I think the biggest problem really is that the translators hired do not have English as their first language. Unless they are unparalleled super geniuses (no offense translators) then their Chinese would be a 10 and their English more like a 4. At least, I suck at Spanish even though I took it for so many years. I believe that the problem is not that the translators don't want to write well, but that they can't, because they can't understand why we add -ing to our sentences just like I can't understand crap about kanji. This is just my educated guess though, could be right or wrong.
