This is an epic fantasy that dabbles in horror elements and mystery. Also it has my own unique(kind of) power system. The first volume is especially designed to feel like a coming of age story with some twists here and there of course.
From the frost fangs in the north to the Bleak mire in the south, the voices of discontent and misery are rising, pleading. And dark voices are answering.
Aldrich, is a fifteen year old boy, living in a small village called Wakefield, he dreams of being a Crestmaster and to make it big as an adventurer, to find treasure in dungeons, to slay monsters and uncover ancient relics in secret tombs, but all of that and more is possible only when his Crest awakens.
For now he makes a living as a shepherd in Mr. Isger’s farm, and a handyman for Mr. Krynt, the only Crestmaster and archeologists residing in Wakefield.
On the day Aldrich awakens his Crest, abruptly, without knowing or understanding anything, Wakefield is attacked and burned, Aldrich is the only survivor, barely making it out with a mysterious gift, a heavy mission and dire warnings to never turn back.
He is then told to forget about what he saw and the innocent villagers that died, to never ask questions. All things Aldrich could never do.
One day he will uncover the forces behind the massacre and take his revenge. But for now he will lower his head and pretend that nothing has happened. For now.
What Aldrich will find outside his little village will not just test the limits of his will, but also his sanity.
