This is like my annual return to the WN forum to moan about yet another update $#!s on the user's experience: the ads at the bottom of the reader.
The most egregious thing about these ads is that it ruins the reader experience. You have various colour themes and typeface options, all to make sure each user can tailor their reading experience so that it's comfortable and not straining for them, but now you have an advert at the bottom that has no regards for colour contrast or high frequency variation near the center of your vision. It's disgusting! Click it to remove it, and you've still lost real estate in the bottom of your screen. It's bad enough reading on mobile devices as it is, nevermind some god-awful app shrinking down the useable screen space even further.
This has, once again, reinforced how this company doesn't give a toss about the user experience. Pathetic! If you want people to start leaving your service, ruining the quality of the actual reading experience is how you do it! I could just go to scummy aggregator sites if having a rubbish reading experience was acceptable.
By all means, have ads if you need them; just do it in a better way! Have them scroll with the chapter or something, at least then it'd only a temporary nuisance.
