Are there any good places to share my work? How important is my cover image? Should i just keep writing and hope for the best? Do you know of any good site for getting constructive criticism?

I'd recommend entering the Webnovel Writers discord server, where the staff members have organized various seminars to help new writers.
Cover, Title, and Synopsis is the trio most important for exposure.

Cover should stand out, and for reference, look at the best-performing books to get an idea of what a good WN cover looks like.
    Title should be catchy.

1.Have a decent novel picture Alot of attention can be brought with that
2.Don't start your beginning of novel with its ending ruins any form of immersion
(read a novel recently picture was great as well as synops. But opening chapter it stated clearly the mc had literally just killed everyother human being he was at a godly level about to face the big boss. Then went back to start)
      3. Make maps for your reference and for readers reference- mc hometown, map of Kingdom territory, map of world/ what readers will know of world within certain perameters
      4. For your mc and other main characters have a picture handy of what he is meant to look like
      5. For your first readers when leaving comments talk to them ( engaging author)
      6. If 1 reader at start leaves notes of mistakes if easy to fix fix them as you go (shows engaging author)
      7. Know what type of novel you will write before start ( read one it was meant to be a woman who reincarnated into past before the apocalypse opening was excellent how she will plan everything and how difficult things will get, but following few chapters, she recievind inheratence of a few billion dollars without reasonable explanation 0 plans enacted and its her enacting vengeance against family who somehow stole her inheritance before the apocalypse due to them somehow bribing the government officials, made 0 sense) I quit that novel then and their
Off top my head that's what came to mind to your question

The first thing the readers will see is the cover image.. Should give the details of the mc/story.. It should be eyecatching.. Related to the title.. Like in 'my vampire system' looking at it you'll get the impression that he's a vampire but not an ordinary kind of vampire.. And its the first basis for readers imagination, like seeing what he looks like when he is human then what he looks like when he transforms.. Something like that.. In novels, poking one's imagination is of great importance.. You'll just have to show us something and our imagination will do the rest.. 😁
Next is the title.. Should be interesting and related to the story.. The title itself will be telling us what the story is about.. Like a system that involves werewolves, thus, 'my werewolf system' or someone with a system that holds the power of hermes, thus, 'hermes system'.. By seeing the cover peeks our interest while the title confirm it for us about what it is about.. 😉
Last is the synopsis.. Yes, give it all out like courting the girl/boy of your dreams.. Shower it with the story's strongest side.. 😋
