The greater Aureian Xeghyn planned to conquer the multiverse and become the sole god. To do so, it had to kill the other seven greater aureians, among whom Eidhanth the Dragonlady stood proud. Unbeknownst to the other greater Aureians, the lord of fire invaded the mortal worlds. He enslaved and conquered the creatures that inhabited them. The cycle was repeated for eons.

The chaos they caused slowly changed his armies until they became what people later called demons. The legions grew in power and strength until, one day, the lord of fire made his move, killing four of the seven great Aureians. Their troops were still alive, and by joining the remaining great Aureians, they fought against the legions of demons brought by the lord of fire.

The war was about to be won by the Demon Lord, so the greater Aureians did the only logical thing they could do: they went to the mortal worlds to recruit the creatures inhabiting the planets in order to bolster their troops.

When a portal from a mana-filled dimension opened, the ethereal substance flooded into that universe, changing the basic rules, changing the creatures, and bringing others from many different planets.
