In response to his sigh of enjoyment, the woman tilted her head toward the moon, her eyes turned blood red as her fangs emerged, plunged down, and bit into his neck, prompting both of them to let out moans but were cut short by an owl with a note on its foot.

      Karma gets up from Vidarr, his blood on her lip, and examines the note for the owl.

        There is some romance planned, but that isn't the focus of the story. This is a story about a woman overcoming adversities, surviving and maneuvering a world being brought to its knees by outside forces and by the corruption from within.

        I love the story genre, but recently, it's been hard to enjoy because it seems like the main characters already get too overpowered too quickly, go through a complete personality change (ei a foolish person into someone who can all of a sudden outwit everyone.), or the story is completely lost because toxic romance suddenly became the sole focus.

        In my story, strong skills doesn't automatically make everything easy. The characters don't automatically turn into the smartest person in the room. Flaws don't become non-existent. It's not about making the main characters into bada$$es.
