Hey Guys,
I just have a quick question and hope someone can give me some insight. I've tried to look through the forums and find someone with a similar question but all of the articles date back to 2020 and don't seem terribly relevant anymore.

I am just curious at what point I should give up on getting my work contracted.

I'm currently at 160k words and just hit 100 chapters today. I won 2nd place in WPC 264 and have had my popularity increase exponentially following that but still have yet to hear from anyone about a contract.

I'm not particularly banking on a contract or anything, I'm just curious if I should discard any hope of ever getting one and write purely for the enjoyment factor.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Slackr

idk why would you want that terrible contract... if your story is any good, put it on royal road and get patreon/paypal accounts. you will keep your copyright and probably earn much more than what you would earn on webnovel. some good authors earn $20k+ monthly that way. and they can still publish on amazon and similar sites.

slackr Maybe reach out to the Author support. I thought first through third auto got contracts as a reward. Maybe check your spam email

I am not an author so I may be wrong but as far as I know if your story reached more than 50k words and WN didn't contact you then you should contact one of their editors yourself on Inkstone platform maybe?
I think I remember someone on the forum saying that they applied for the contract themselves not long ago so you should look into that.
You may want to contact one of the authors active on the forum and I am sure they would answer your questions.
Unlike many others, I think that WN contract isn't that bad actually if your novel was on the mediocre to good side.
        Good luck and keep writing!
