Why is a novel not appearing on the author's orignal works page?
I don't think the author used emotions this is all it is, is just a prologue to the story.

That is true. I can't write in anything but English. Hi, I'm the author of that book and there is nothing that is in any kind of rule breaking. So why is it like that? Even I can't see it on my own page.

If you can't see it yourself and it's early in the book, then it might be in the process of getting vetted. Once a novel hits 4K words it enters the queue to be vetted, after which point it becomes visible on the author's profile. It's basically a case of waiting if it is past 4K, but it might be a little longer thanks to WSA.

Can you use $ or * ?
Most likely it isn't vetted yet. Content Editor's has to check them manually, and once there isn't any wrong with them and it has reached 4k, it will get vetted and will be shown.
One way is if someone intentionally put chinese, japanese, korean, etc letters on the book, which causes it to get blacklisted and disappear from author's profile.
