So I couldn’t help but notice that romance in chinese novels is generally divided into ”becky let me smash so I’ll devote my life to her” and “Since I smashed her, might as well bring her around with me along with my caring adopted older sister, tsundere childhood friend and some yandere loli that I randomly picked up from the street.”.. which left me wondering, what happened to one night stands? Or is this an alien concept for people that waste their time on webnovels?

Like srsly, I haven’t read a single webnovel where the mc wouldn’t “take responsibility” and marry a chick that he boned even if he already has a wife.. I mean even in the novels where the mc rapes someone, he still takes care of her afterword.. Like wtf?

So far, I have seen it only in God of Slaughter, and is barely metioned (the protagonist got out there rapping females after he killed the males). Im sure there is lore or sometin from china tha explain why this happen.

Sythcake Maybe, author like to take one between those extreme examples because is different as things happens in real life.

Sound more impactfull to devote one life or get in a relationship with a lot of beutiful persons (handsomes for the famale mcs, and beuties for the male mcs, Are there any harem with both in chinese novels :P) than a mere one night stand.

        1) A series of one-night stands can be boring to read.
        2) If an author focuses enough to make a side character interesting, why not keep her around instead of tossing her and having to come up with many more to replace her?
        3) I’d guess it shows the MC actually cares about the women.

        All guesses on my part.
