I have a simple question. How do you guys attract readers and gain collections?

I have another novel, which is not really good but started off quite well, got collections and all quickly, but my second novel doesn't seem to be doing well despite it being better than the first one. I don't know maybe I should wait a little bit longer? Or maybe my new novel sucks... I don't know. I need help.

daniz_ In my opinion, if you want to attract the attention of many readers, your story must contain what topics are currently being sought after by many Webnovel readers, for example, those that are currently trending, such as stories that contain plots about the system, or R-18 and so on.

And for your book problem, the answer is also simple, maybe your first book contains what I said earlier, so your first book went well. Meanwhile, for your second book, you can now guess.

Oh yeah, don't forget grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the like are very important, and also keep uploading chapters, whether three times a week or better if you upload one chapter every day because readers and collections will come automatically if you do that.

InstaMoist agreed. A deep understanding of trends plus how to keep your previous readers engaged is a very crucial step. I think your novel cover and synopses also helps in setting the first impression so they should be catchy enough to grab one's attention, and from catchy I don't mean you'll have to hire an artist for that necessarily, a simple look would suffice too

daniz_ What gives you that idea? If you really enjoy writing stories, I suppose it's not a problem, is it?

Because I enjoy reading dark stories containing R-18 material such as gore, violence, s.x, and other similar topics, I try to write stories similar to those that I find enjoyable when I'm reading them. If I'm being completely honest, I can say that I've been very fortunate because a lot of people read my vile stories.

If you take pleasure in writing stories and anticipate that a large number of people will read them, in my opinion, you should continue writing the kinds of stories that you find enjoyable rather than writing stories in a way that will please the people who read them.

Because, as you probably already know, many writers quit in the middle of a story because they don't enjoy the stories they've written or because the stories don't match their tastes. Of course, if you intend to make writing your career, that's a different thing altogether.

You are right. I understand everything you said. Trying to write something that matches people's tastes is not really pleasant.
I guess I have to keep writing and hope that people will find my bullshit enjoyable.

daniz_ I seem to vaguely remember your name on Discord not long ago. I didn't think you were a big shot, but now it makes sense to me because when I read your reply, I felt a strong sarcasm in it.

Forget what I said. I feel like a fool now, so I'll just wish you a nice day and the best of luck with your second book.

daniz_ Try editing your tags , synopsis, book cover etc and it also takes time and patience
