Webnovel has been making mistake after mistake for some time now.
Their system of deleting comments and reviews sucks, they delete comments or reviews that do not contain insults and there is nowhere to complain about it. (I'm not talking about the ones that an author deletes, I myself am an author and most of my reviews are deleted by webnovel, even the photos and comments that I post end up deleted for no reason, not all but a large part of them).
They remove the translation of the paid chapters, something that completely screws those who do not speak English (I do not speak English, but I always paid for the chapters I read without complaining).
Now they force you to download the app to read all kinds of novels, no matter if it's fanfic or original novel, no matter if you have a damn contract with them. I write novels, I can't say I'm totally successful but I have my reader base and even though I don't read novels on this site anymore, it bothers me that most of my readers won't be able to follow my novel anymore because of their crappy changes (I even decided to go the way of using Pa treon instead of taking the webnovel contract so that my non-English speaking readers can still read what I write) and to talk about their damn ads, profiting even on fanfic and novels without contract.
With all these problems, there were always people complaining on the forums, but as always, the moderators are conspicuous by their absence. Never, ever, have you seen one speak up, let alone see any change in listening to your users.
I left posts on the forum, I left reviews on the webnovel app, I did everything to share my dissatisfaction many times, but everything as always is ignored.
So after 3 years of reading on this site and 3 years of spending money, I say goodbye to this site. Even if they fix the shit they did, it doesn't take away the fact that they will look for more ways to screw the users and exploit them to get more money, I wouldn't be surprised if they create a membership to be able to read on a computer. And for the people who read this and keep complaining, I warn you that you won't earn much.
There was already a wave of criticism for removing fast-pass on computers and the only thing they managed to get, are comments from the moderators treating those people as poor people who just want to have everything for free, nothing but contempt from those bastards. I hope that this publication will not be censored, because apart from all these changes, the webnovel forum has always shone for its censorship.
But it is something that one always expects, after all this site is China, always shining for its censorship in everything.
