SuperSilentSin No one really knows for a fact yet what is going to be officially offered.
Contracts aren't out yet to the potential authors, as far as we know.
So the only way to concretely get money out of this is through Patreon right now.
Don't try to add numbers yet, our works need to get noticed, first and foremost, before you even try to think about numbers. The question will lie in if you will persevere throughout that waiting period.
In my part, I work for myself so I have some flexibility in time. I can continue to write at my own pace.
I know others don't have the same luxury but this is the current reality of the situation.
So, either wait it out with us who don't know or make a patreon and hope for the best while you continue to push out your story.
No point in comparing yourself to others who are more "known" right now. There will always be someone positioned higher up the ladder when you compare ourselves to them. That's life. What matters is what you do with what you have to make it count.
I think you will know well enough that there are a lot of writers, and the lot of them don't even see a dime from their work. Platforms like Royalroad and Wattpad have already existed before Inkstone. And those exists solely for exposure, as I am led to believe.
As for the word count requirement, that is an initial bracket requirement Webnovel has put in as an example.
They had said they want consistent performing writers that at least update daily with "good" stories. That's one of the main reasons for the word count requirement. Whether that is negotiable or not is unknown at the moment.
Again, we don't know yet. Wait for contract offers to come out and hope there is no NDA for draft contracts. If there is then just join the inkstone discord server and hope the staff would be announcing some details there.
Hope that helps at least.
