I saw that Alchemy Emperor of the Divine Dao is going premium soon. (Around Chapter 203)

A few thoughts,

1. The novel is currently ongoing at 4621 chapters on Qidian in China.
2. At the current pace of the translator, it will take 7.73 years until the novel reaches the current point in the raws.
3. Spirit Stone costs per chapter look like they will be around 9-10 SS per chapter.
4. To read all 4418 Premium chapters @9SS per chapter would cost 39,762SS.
5. 39,762 SS = $611.60 (3250SS per $49.99)
6. Again, this is not the complete story. This is only to reach the current point in the raws. The novel is not completely written yet. So it will only become more expensive to read.

Anyone planning to really spend that much reading it?

I dont f#cking understand why they start premium on a novel thats barely 200 chap, at least be decent and wait till 500 chapter than start milking money from people. Honestly if guys keep being cheap like this you're going to loose lots of readers

The release rate was 11ch/wk. Now, it is gonna be 7ch/wk for me(free user). . Well, it is not much different I guess.
And while the chapter count may increase, the overall rate per wk in the end is just 4ch greater than base free ch(7ch/wk). Spending 80-120 ss every week for just a small increase in rate(not speaking about count) is not profiting unless we are using ss to support translator.
SS strategy would only be a effective for novels which has 14ch/wk or established fan-base. Using it now instead of at 400ch+ or without increasing rate of release is gonna be detrimental.
