At least the translation has resumed a lot of the problems could really be simply resolved with a good quality proof reader who has been reading the novel so knows the existing terminology and translating style of the previous translator some of the recent move names don't seem to come across well in translation and just sometimes seem to make them seem disjointed

To the translator I'd suggest asking on the forum for a existing reader who has some experience in English language to help proof read your stockpile and edit the existing chapters you have released reading castellan makes me cringe a little everytime.

Hmm I'm glad SS is back again. As for move names and people I'm not that worried. Simply just stating what the character names are and who they actually are will help.

    These new names are terrible. Use the old glossary. It is just too weird seeing Castellan instead of Primal Chaos City Leader and so much more issues. I don't understand how this is even premium.

      Thanks for the translation, there's some improvements. But please for the love of god could you not ever use again the term castellan, it's by far the worst one, use Primal Chaos City Leader.

      bachingchung The faster a translation is finished, the less money can be made. For several reasons. The most simple one would be, that a finished translation would be very easy/low effort to download from pirating sites.

          Karyehs nobody will wait for a novel to be completely translated, specially half way after reading it. There will be more locked chapters so they'll make more money. Besides thry could easily slow down when they get near to the raws. Also a lot of people didn't read this yet coz' the number of chapters were still too few, it will reel in more whales.

                gsk do you even read this or the comments left on the each chapter you have translated so far?? I'd suggest you completely stop translating novels in general, you work is at the bottom of the barrel. I'd rather have no chapters for Swallowed Star, than have you and your team doing the translation.f

                  I hope another group can pick up SS because the quality of the recent chapters are quite bad. There’s a lack of editing, frequent switching of terms and even some sentences that just don’t make sense.

                  It's not just the terms, it's also your own word choices. For instance using "invaluables" to refer to the class of treasures above what the old translation called "true treasures." Invaluable is not a noun, it shouldn't even be pluralized, and it just sounds wrong. I'd prefer a succinct one word answer but all I can come up is adding a descriptor to treasure - "priceless treasure" or "absolute treasure."

                  Scenes where there is a lot happening the translation and sentence structure fall apart and cease to make sense. There is a tendency to switch back and forth between terms for the same thing which is part of the reason.

                  Let alone old things, new subjects introduced are difficult to understand. Like this Beast god Inheritance tablet. Clearly this is a different Beast God then the one LF studies, but they must be differentiated in some way in the original text, yet you gave it the same name. The explanation of the relation of the 8 Beast Gods to the Ancestral God School took me 2 reads to sort of understand.

                    Having a too large glossary is rather pointless. Especially, if you don't actually base it on the past translation.

                    Why even bother creating this thread? There are people 'complaining' (asking for fixes) in the comments AND here, while both don't seem to receive any attention.

                    It would have been easy to simply read the last 50 translated chapters, to get used to the used terminology, instead of creating a huge glossary. (especially if it uses different names/technique names anyway)

                    I really would like to make the translation of this novel better because it was my favourite, so here are my remarks (will be updated when I find new ones):
                    - worm race -> bug clan/race
                    - barbarian -> other race (they really aren’t barbarians!)
                    - Bauhinia Island -> Redbud Island (both sound fine)
                    - sky beast -> space beast
                    - soul servant -> soul slave (they get enslaved, so makes more sense)
                    - botanic life form -> plant life form
                    - “The owner of this island, unlike you heirs, is not restricted.” -> the island’s leader
                    - guarding beast god -> beast god guard
                    - Masters of the universe -> universe master
                    - prophet inheritance -> god envoy inheritance (both sound good)
                    - “heirs” of Bauhinia island -> “candidates”
                    - ...

                      honnestly i gave up on the translation of this novell long ago - the current translators just don't care about it and constantly deliver subpar translations that don't have any connex with the premium quality translation that went on before
