A while ago I read a recommended novel that I forgot to save to my library but cant find it now, so I'll give a description of what I can remember.
Story starts with male mc standing at the top of a building and him thinking about how he has become the richest most powerful person? but soon he is killed by someone (adopted son?). Anyway dude gets reborn to a woman who seems to be on the run. Mc is born with white hair (and I think silver eyes?) but to avoid getting caught she uses magic to change the color. Mother seems to be quite powerful/good at magic and is from a prestigious family.
The mother, still being on the run goes to another kingdom (but first goes through a beast territory and there is a clash between two beasts) mother ignores this an keeps running and eventually finds a town where she stays for some time. (Author says they were together for 5 months altogether) until one day mc grandfather turns up saying that mother has to go back or he will kill mc, but is she leaves him at a orphanage and she comes back without a fuss then he won't hurt mc. Mother then finds an orphanage and naming him Andrew (I think), before leaving and vowing that once she was strong enough she would find him again.
Mc is taken into the orphanage and once old enough (around 10) all kids are taken to a place where they have to start training so that they can be part of the army (this kingdom seems to be having a succession war) and when they first go to the training area they are forced to run under pressure, only 3 are left standing (mc, crazy guy and girl).
After a while they are doing a test of some sort that ends up not going to plan as this batch of recruits are taken away and the town is destroyed. Turn out crazy kid is a descendent of some evil cult leader and so all classmates are also taken cause crazy kid thinks of mc as a rival. Everyone gets thrown into a vat of blood and mc gets strong from this (supervisor think it didn't do much only slightly enhance everyone) and ends up becoming some sort of demon? along with everyone else that survived.
I can't remember the exact tags but here are some I think they might be: villain, anti-hero, dark, devil(?)
