Eh, after a few days of cooling off, maybe I've been too harsh? I've just been irritated and frustrated with a couple novels and other stuff these days. Anyways if anyone is interested in making a group leisurely editing discussion group where everyone just tries to contribute as much as they want for new authors please let me know so we can set it up! It should be a friendly safe space for just getting help fleshing out ideas without judgement and getting help making cool new stories for everyones enjoyment.

Misguided_Rooster I feel like theres still a line between cliche and classic, almost every idea has probably been done, but how you do it and the twists you put in matters, and execution is key (Also tbh I look for mindless reading every now and then, sometimes just plain fluff when I feel down, systems or reincarnation trope still hypes me up)
DeJeL Can't say all of my reviews or comments have been, but theres been a number I've done here and on another account I use on my phone. I'm not really trying to crack down or oppress new authors or people writing for fun who's English isn't their strong point, I just feel like this is something people should be more conscious of, and if we could get a discussion group with people will to offer a bit of their free time every now and then to review and go over chapters and discuss with authors to make edits then we could get a lot done and help the community as a whole.
SweetsTomato I read both. I'm Asian American, part Vietnamese (Although I can only speak and not write or read it, and even that is only on an average conversation level) so I understand if the grammar is off or it isn't as well constructed. I even understand some things just don't translate well, but I feel like it falls on the hands of the translate to not translate word for word, but also its feelings and flow. I don't expect master pieces, just some time killers, but having an editor run through some of these would be nice. Maybe we can have a discussion group where everyone just helps peer review or edit works together for free? Nothing professional, but its better than nothing at least.
Eh, I'm not much of a writer, but easy way to win some free stones to unlock more chapters? Lets go lol
So, lately, it seems no matter which series I pick up I run into the same issues. Same plot lines, same cliche characters with no depth, same old tropes. It's like someone made a poor copy of a decent using a faulty printer then decided to make 50 copies...of the copies. It just keeps getting worst each time. That's not all. The reviews and ratings are so extremely misleading and biased I'm wondering if the authors are paying people online to leave fake reviews. Stories with absolutely terrible writing and grammar are getting 4.7 stars reviews, but the quality are frankly middle school level. I'm not trying to be mean spirited but even if I take it with a grain of salt for English not being their native language or the translation not being as great as the original, that's a fault on the translation team then and they should do better than just make a work legible, but to also transmit the feeling of the book. Can we please start leaving realistic and constructive criticism in reviews rather than plain "good job 5 Star!"? That doesn't help anyone and only lowers the collective quality of the books we have. Making people focus more on pumping out subpar chapters rather than making a great and meaningful book. I've gotten so much shit for leaving bad reviews, but honestly I'm just tired of this shit.
