Deleting/unpublishing novels would be almost the same thing as erasing evidence of the author’s creation of the story. It's possible for someone to copy those deleted novels and give no credit to the original author.
This should not be too much of a problem for authors who wrote a couple of chapters before losing interest and dropping their novel. However, there are also novels that are simply on hold because the author is busy or needs time to come up with ideas. I have also seen authors, who are already writing a novel, create a new novel that they plan on continuing after they finish their main/current novel. It would be a problem if these authors wanted to continue their story one day, but their novel got deleted/unpublished due to lack of uploads and someone ends up copying the story concept they had already posted. If this occurs, they may be accused of plagiarizing if they try to republish their novel.

I agree with you. Those inappropriate book covers make me really uncomfortable. The reason there are age restriction tags is because there are younger kids on this site. An 18+ tag can keep younger people away from mature content, but it does not protect anyone’s eyes from inappropriate book covers.
Literally yesterday, I was introducing my brother to webnovels and we saw the Conan Cassanova novel when we scrolled down the front page (under daily updates). That was so embarrassing...
I feel Qidian should at least make sure the novel covers for the novels featured on the front page are appropriate.JMBookCovers
