    8374fg48fh 8374fg48fh Not saying you wrong particularly but if your only main critique is that the stories are samey then you’re being a little more than hyperbolic in your condemnation. Whilst originality is definitely important two works can be very nearly identical and still both be entertaining in their own right. I’m not exactly sure how you could have read enough stories on this site in an hours or so to conclude that they are all the same, the writing is all bad and the characters are all boring, but as pretty much anyone can post pretty much anything I’d say that a fair amount of sub par content is par for the course. I’ve started plenty of high ranking novels and found them slow and droning from the first chapter but with the wide variety of stuff there’s to find you can just drop it and find a novel more suited to your tastes, that’s sort of why sites like this exist after all. Every web novel site has its gems and I’ve spent enough time on fanfiction.net when I used to use it a few years ago to know that it’s full of trash, I still managed to find a few decent stories there despite that fact. Most stuff in the internet is garbage, it’s been like that this whole time, not many people care whether what they’ve written is any good or not they just want to post their ideas somewhere.
    This is way longer than I thought it’d be, just keep looking for a novel that fits you.

    Also there’s nothing wrong with reincarnation stories.

        MasterRabbink Cool, I get the picture. Maybe these stories are as popular as they are because it makes the reader feel that they have as much control over the MCs actions as the MC does.

            Further point, is there a Webnovel where there is no cultivation and one guy invents it?
            That would be cool but he’d have no rivals so I guess it would have to be some sort of scenario where a bunch of people have their own ideas about how humans should get stronger, a situation where you can’t just go “oooh I’m this level” “ah ha well I’m this higher level so I’ll definitely win” and so on (though things rarely are that simple).
            Or a story line where everyone’s method of cultivation is wrong and someone figures out a new better way.
            Just something I had a thought about.
            Any fellow daoists who know of something close to that?

              PuddingPeddler I’ll add that to the list aswell thanks. I didn’t mention it before but the alchemy in ISSTH is one of my favourite parts, every character seems to have their own unique way of concocting, they follow the same recipes but they have their own ideas about what an alchemist really is, writing stuff like that can be difficult but when it’s done well it really makes the characters feel a lot deeper.

                  Just thought it would be cool if there were a storyline that focuses on creating martial art techniques and cultivation techniques. Only time I can remember it being done was in ISSTH when he made that cool karma binding martial art and that when he materialises that bridge or whatever, even then he never seems to try making anything new again. If something like this exists please let me know. Just a bit tired of MCs getting strong because they’re following in some other daoists footsteps, if you get strong that way you’ll only ever be second best at most.
