knowing that this forum is inhabited mostly by new and old authors doing lobby (nothing wrong with that) i wanted to ask as the title says what are your predictions about where the future trends are going.
I come from the times of pure Wuxia/Xianxia, after that was a combination with magic, the boom of reincarnations and non human protagonist, romances with girls with many handsome men arround, all this accompained with Harem, all this with horny undertone and now horny with all the above in undertone.
This is a gross over simplification of the changes over the years but it has some ring to it, at the end of the day im just a reader who want your opinions

I get where you come from even if this is not all your livelhood you want to get money for your effort and you are right at that.
but you are defending this page like a paladin of justice and there are some things that Webnovel dont deserve to be defended from, the ungodly cut that they get from the authors, the legal apropiation of eastern novel to be droped at the drop of a hat and no one can translate ever again, the progresive changes against the people that made this page so big (free to read) and the invasive and excesive monetization.
yeah i get that even if you dont like some of them you cant talk openly about it, but you are freaking out without a motive almost no one here want to read your novel only for free they just want Webnovel be not so Webnovel.
But monopoly does that and they can do wherever they want, they even need defending?

Harry potter book 35 dollars, a book here is hundred to thousands and it not yours you are leasing it.
yeah authors needs money but the company Webnovel gets 50% to 70% of the earnings
Its not a good deal and the company usually does things to screw the customer.
The defenders of every thing Webnovel does uses the authors as excuse because they dont want to think more profundly

The real problem here is monopoly, Wuxiaworld and Webnovel have the monopoly of all eastern novels out there, the diference is one of those pages is predatory, uses that monopoly to screw authors and readers with policies increasingly worse over time.
Yeah there is people that have a good monetary situation and can use 300 dollars in a month reading novels here wich is fine and there is people in countries that 300 dollars are high class salary and even if people of those countries made the terrible financiary decision to use them here they can no longer even translate the chapters.

LordofRavens The funny thing is that a couple of days ago WN put a security meassure that the bots of pirate pages only copy mumbled lines of code and not words and definetly not the chapters.
WN in his usual fuck the consumer policy condemn you to use this page until someone figures out the code thing

Let be real, if you go to a new chapter in any novel the FastPass does not exist anymore.
the best case escenario is that 10 points equal 1 chapter but the option is not there anymore (hopefully in the future)
WN has a bad reputation to put it lightly so people are freaking out, rightfully so
