sammielane448 Here's my novel Duality.
If possible, I'd ask you begin from book 2 as boom 1 is in dire need of an editing, and the first third will be completely rewritten.

Actually not from a novel but a tv series. Frank Underwood from House of Cards.
To me he is such a good villain because of his disregard towards anything other than his goals. He lies, cheats, murders, and manipulate those around him. To him, power and leaving a legacy are the only thing that truly matter, everything else being secondary.
And yes, I'm aware that Kevin Spacey, the actor who portrays Frank Underwood, is a piece of shit. This is about the character though, not the actor.
RJMidnight wait, 5%? I thought it was 10%

The writing starts somewhat rough, but I feel that it has improved a lot in later chapters.
Thereviewer48 Fine by me. Chapter 30 is a R-18 chapter, but it is entirely skippable and it is part of a flashback sequence that I plan to axe as soon as I'm done with the first volume, hopefully before the end of the year.
Thereviewer48 To be fair, these elements aren't the focus of the story, but I can understand your decision. Thanks anyways.

oyunembesili You can try my novel, Duality, though it doesn't focus too heavily on those elements for now.
Another good pick would be Invincible Canadian Hermaphrodite Goddess Cultivator (Yes, that is the title) over on scribblehub.

Harem, solely because of how bad it usually is with harem members all being one dimensional and forgotten as the plot advances. Another commom theme is having the characters like the MC just to be ignored.
The only exception of a good harem novel I can think of is AnimeCon Harem.
Title: Duality

But death was not the end for John, as he had the chance to reincarnate in another world.
Now watch him grow from a slave's son to a hero and a legend.
Berserk_channel As Tomoyuki pointed out, american names will sound weird if the story is not set on the U.S. but that doesn't mean that you need to use chinese names. My story is set on an western fantasy setting, so all the names are western too such as John, Westbrook, Rochdale, etc. Just make sure that all the names fit with the setting.
fantasynamegenerator is a great tool for that, and I like to use the Westeros generator for most of my character names, while fantasy town generator and northern american town generator for place names.
If you absolutely need to use chinese names, then leave them untraslated. Kamehameha, for example, may sound a little weird, but it's much better than Turtle Destruction Wave. And yes, I know that this is a Japanese name. I couldn't think of any chinese one from the top of my head. Moving on.
As also pointed out in a post above, the usual cultivation terms will sound weird, so you'll also need to adapt them. "Edward training on the Frosty Ying Imperial technique to become an Heavenly Body expert" doesn't sounds as good as "Edward training his body to become a Paladin." Instead of an evil blood cultivator, you have a Heresiarch. Rather than a "cultivation pill made of concentrated qi", you can change it to "mana potion."
Finally, if you want a good example of a work using westen names, then you can read Coiling Dragon right here on webnovel. Another good example, not free though, is the Craddle Series by Will Wight.
