  • Wasn't originally going to do this, but due to WebNovel's new audit issue causing my Novel to be incapable of being found via the platform itself, I decided to give it a try.

My Novel is called 'Diaries of Nero the Halloween Cat'. It is rated for a more mature audience, the MC is a male. It is what I would call an Isekai Light Novel. It is a psychological Novel, where you get a chance to read a whole lot of the MC's inner thoughts. The story is not intended to be a crazed, unbelievable tale of never-ending excitement... But it has its moments. As a reader once said, it has a lot of light-hearted comedy which helps diffuse the dullness of the Psychological theme. It touches on a lot of dark subjects, and there can be smut involved. However, it does not begin heading into that direction until later in the Novel; nor does it actually focus on that one aspect. It is a Game-Lit, which also makes fun of other Game-Lits. The MC is a monster, though he does not appear that way for a vast majority of the Novel. Shapeshift Sama OP~ The MC does not spontaneously have his entire life flash before his eyes as soon as he arrives into the Novel, so many things are left unanswered for quite some time. He's living a new life in which he faces a plethora of new challenges, no need to seriously dwell on the previous... But he does actually spend time trying to relive some of his past life's memories. The MC spends a lot of time making new friends, and some of them may perish. It's not a happy-go-lucky story. Things will happen, and you might not be emotionally prepared for them.

I'm trying not to spoil anything, but if you simply must know more about the Novel before even thinking about giving it a try... I will drop some additional tags below the Volume 3 Cover Art which are not immediately realized upon the beginning of the Novel.

  • i love how this entire thread got absolutely derailed.

I for one, don't believe that they were scrappers. I'm thinking that they only commented cheesy and generic things as a means of supporting you (would be tiring to think up original comments several times if you're just one person). They might have been bots, they might have been just one or two extremely dedicated fans, they might have been your assigned content editor him(/her)self, or their bots.

I don't know exactly all of the details to being a content editor... And there's really no reason for them to be taking such drastic measures for your own mental benefit (believing that you have more dedicated fans than you do), UNLESS you are already signed for a contract and are expected to continue writing, or unless you are being flagged as a potential new author to sign a contract. I'm not trying to pin this whole thing against them, but it's one of the more likely scenarios. If content editors have quotas for ensuring that X amount of novels sign off on a contract annually, then obviously... They might try to coerce more authors to sign. If authors believe that they have a ton of dedicated fans and that their story is being incredibly well received, they're more likely to sign. If your content editor likes your work personally, or believes that it seems to be doing fine on its own... Then perhaps they might decide to play preferential treatment of their little bot game to you... Which would explain why these events appear to be sporadic (At least a couple of you mentioned how it suddenly stopped happening). By making all of these comments, real or fake... They're effectively increasing your views, and comments... Which puts you closer to the tops of the weekly rankings, or even more times having your Novel on the 'Featured Tabs'... They're granting you with more chances to gain REAL readers.

It's absolutely perilous. It doesn't need to be a ruthless content editor's doing. It can be a loving friend's doing, a devoted fan's doing, or I suppose... A hysterical scrapper's doing.
