I'm glad to see I'm not the only unlucky one here. I was baffled to see a genre-specific fp everyday. My daily check in fast pass is not All works anymore but for genres I'm least interested in. At least give the fps based on the user profile, or perhaps they're making sure I get fps for genres I don't read?
I feel it's got a lot to do with the format. Firstly, the themes are so repetitive that there's not too much difference that can be expected around it. Second, populism takes over quality because too many of high ranking novels are there because certain themes or some type of content is more popular among readers and it leaves the serious readers pulling on their hair. Of course due to direct feedback and need to write too many chapters, the author easily tends to follow the popular trend, succumb to reader demands to get better ranks and end up dragging and stretching plots in all unnecessary directions, losing the essence and main plot. Books are much better written in terms of content because only serious writer will take up that challenge and will write freely as per their original plan, without getting distracted everyday by praise or criticism and will keep the story in its mould. Its a shame that most of the genuinely nice stories have lower rankings, are hardly noticed by readers and therefore such platforms end up discouraging those good writers.
