My covers still show up on webnovel. But they now show up as broken links or not there in inkstone. Not a huge deal since they still show up on webnovel but I was surprised when I thought my cover was gone.
Yeah the difference on mine is pretty big too. Which number is the real one I wonder?
I'm a bit worried that these quick prompts will over load the original content with a bunch of quick stories. Making it hard to find good long term stories.
lol I was to slow I just finished the last prompt today. I get messed up on dates since I work nights. Oh well.
I just started re reading the part that been translated and it's not as graphic as I remembered.
RedKaizer That's true I would not call the MC a good person.
It's also the only xianxia book I've read where the main character is fat.
It's fairly unique although a bit graphic. It's translation has been dead for about a year would love to see it picked up.
Tenko But I've also seen translated novels that won't even show the smallest swear word with out censoring. That's why I said there appears to be a rating system for stories which is probably the difference between what kind of censorship they have.
Lol also this word count 120000 a month! that's 3871 words a day. According to what I looked up the average English novel is 70,000 to 120,000 words. That's literally putting out a whole novel every month. It's practically impossible to keep that up....
Has any one been offered a contract yet? Is it based in Chinese law? I'm just curious because it would make it very hard to take legal action if you ever have too. (since I doubt most who will release here live in china) Is web novel a American company owned by qidian or a Chinese branch of qidian? Will the money come from China? International money transfers has a fee in most American banks. Lol mine doesn't even have a swift so I'd have to get a new bank.
Well if you look at the terms of service it does say that it doesn't allow lewd or hentai or racist or illegal or offensive content. Paraphrased. On another note when creating a novel you can choose a rating from everyone to no one under 17. So I would think that the rating the author or translator? decides to put the novel under will effect how much censoring needs to be done.
SweetsTomato That's what I was thinking but I'm just a bit worried that people will say it's not Chinese enough. Especially since it shows up as Eastern Fantasy on the sight lol.
Xianxia in inkstone comes out as Eastern Fantasy on the site.

That's true but those aren't selectable on webnovel as categories. So my novel will have cultivation and many other Xianxia style elements. On the other hands it's not set in china and will be far more western then the Chinese writers. I don't think I could ever be on par with a real Xianxia author. So I've considered it a Xianxia inspired novel. In any case I was curious for others thought on whether I should label it as Fantasy or Xianxia on the site. I feel like a poser if I call it Xianxia but I think it's closer to Xianxia then a standard western Fantasy. So how do you think I should label the webnovel?
