I recieved a bad review saying my cover was a clickbait.

Clickbait the the BADGE dao for Shameless Author club. This Rabbink also marked with similar review. However, trust this Rabbink! Clickbait Cover brings readers. Right now, I don't use clickbait cover, I want to back to my clickbait cover soon, but that will be too soon.
Ruruci is the king of Click Bait cover. See his covers changes every few week. All were beautiful anime ladies. Escape before Ruruci comes.

I think authors should be able to add tags to their own stories. Obviously readers don't bother to add any. If there were tags, this silly thing wouldn't have happened.
GreasyBeer You can tag your own story. Also rather than that, you can also mention you novel tag in synopsis.

the reviews are several months old, and all chapters were deleted - typical case of a dropped novel, no other projects going on. And regarding his comments, I guess we have different attitudes but I didn't see them that negative, or "retarded", just the usual dude on the internet who talks weird stuff, business as usual here
This thread is clickbait, I'm leaving a bad review.
Zijay so what if your cover is click bait! They all are if it had no cover would anyone give it a second glan e it would blend in with everything else. Unfortunately all covers are made to appeal to the eye, so to get offended is a little sad. There will be many people who will criticize about anything because it's easier to b*tch to vent out their frustrations. Flip him off and go on with your day.
I dont see bewbs, how can it be clickbait?
MasterRabbink The first person point of view was only for the kick off chapters. The main story starts after i guess chapter 20.
MasterRabbink I think i know ruruci...on the discord server. Anyway I think clickbait does help, a lot. However, this particular cover was not really intended as a clickbait (the way i made it) and I dont see it that way but probably not for other people.
GreasyBeer I do agree with you. I was even thankful my readers tag mine with a comedy tag but i wish i could tag some more
SnoozySloth I was about to but I decided to just not argue a little more with him. It was useless.
lynerparel Hey thanks.
At least they didn't do a 1 star. I actually did think your novel had a male MC, but I don't know why they would be so angry about it. I mean... who cares? I did all kinda clickbait shit. Changed my name for a bit, changed genera (within reason), changed covers, etc. My readers thought it was funny.

I kind of want to write a novel where the main genre changes each chapter as a joke. Xuanhuan combat 1 chapter, comedy the next, Steampunk, romance, horror, BL, Yuri, fanfic. It'd be hilariously bad.
SnoozySloth You should check my Second Novel. It is based on 1st contest, 2nd contest, 3rd contest. The story get confused. Sigh. I used that to 'test' and practice my writing style. Writing shorter make the story 'paced' better, that what I found.

BabyTanuki SAME. I think the synopsis contribute too. There are MORE about the male than the female. This made me CONFUSED with my gender with the first person view. "I feel something wrong here".

Nevertheless, that is the way, use Handsome Male to bait female readers, and Beautiful Female to bail male readers. My readers admitted the cover baited some. I even get 1 star rating for baited cover. Nevertheless, the same readers then gave 5 star after reading my novel. Gwahahaha.
HOWEVER, there is a different between Good Cover and "GO TO HELL COVER". A cover must be related to the story. So if it is the male character in your store. There should be no problem. That is a related cover. (For example: Japanese Light Novel usually used 'sexy' anime to entice readers to read. Check Webnovel's Comic section. See? That is bait too. We ALL love bait.
Bait Sect Member here. Long Live Bait! "Sneak Peak" is outdated!
SnoozySloth Naw, I think it would work out fine. I experiment with chapters. I write about drugs, war, adventure, romance, etc. It all falls into the flow of the character's lives. Do it! I bet you'd enjoy it.
BabyTanuki
No, I think you're misunderstanding. You have one or several main genres and introduce some other minor genres into it, right? That's ordinary writing and I do the same. I'm talking about changing the major genre/theme every chapter. It'd be super weird/confusing for the reader. Imagine reading WMW one chapter, then the next chapter it becomes Dr. Seuss lol.
SnoozySloth haha, it would make a great comedy though!
SnoozySloth An arc perhaps doable like my novel, but a chapter... That requires real skill. It is hard to make a novel which could make reader cry in a chapter and laugh at next chapter.
