Should I start writing a novel in my native language (German) and then translate it into English or just go ahead and write it in English. My English level would be at C2 but of course I don't know all the proverbs and my vocabulary isn't as rich as in my native language. But if I wrote in English instead of German I would adress my target audience directly without having the need to translate a would be german novel later on.
Do you think a decent english user could/should start off in english or translate later on from their native language?
I do feel comfortable writing in english but due to my environment being german I have no idea whether my sentence structuring, syntax etc... comes off as natural as it would for a native speaker.
