Yeah, feels like qidian is pulling the ground from your feet. I feel like we two have a link.
Should I start writing a novel in my native language (German) and then translate it into English or just go ahead and write it in English. My English level would be at C2 but of course I don't know all the proverbs and my vocabulary isn't as rich as in my native language. But if I wrote in English instead of German I would adress my target audience directly without having the need to translate a would be german novel later on.
Do you think a decent english user could/should start off in english or translate later on from their native language?
I do feel comfortable writing in english but due to my environment being german I have no idea whether my sentence structuring, syntax etc... comes off as natural as it would for a native speaker.

If you are interested in e-books of the fantasy genre I very much can recommend Tery Goodkind's 'Sword of Trurth' Series. The first book is the best, there is a drop in quality after the 4th book but it's an incredibly well done story.

N0xiety I would do the same thing. Majority of people tend to freeload rather than donate out of free will. Most original novels are still free right?

SuperSilentSin Nearly no halfway decent novel has below 4 stars. 4 stars should be the bottom line. Also, most original authors fake their own rating with fake accounts. Thus only lvl 3 and above accounts should be allowed to vote. They could also implement a time restriction allowing only accounts older than 2 weeks to vote. the should only allow one account per IP adress or at max 2 if someone shared their W-Lan. They should block proxy IPs if possible.
The reason a lot of novels aren't that appreciated is simply because they lack quality. The good novels get a lot of good feedback. Most people simply don't read Sayiajin Naruto Pirate King with a System.
The only way to guarantee that original authors grow, get good feedback and earn some money is to ensure the quality of the novels. If great original novels are drowned with hundreds of fanfictions and simply bad novels with 5 star fake ratings of course, most readers won't bother to plow through all of them. after reading the fifth fake-rating novel written by someone who can't even write a coherent sentence most won't keep bothering and simply drop original novels in general, thus never get to read the good ones under them.
Malicious fake voting and quantity over quality is the main problem for the original novels.TYErannical because original authors are not professional authors with many among them writing their first novel while the chinese novels we read are selected among chosen stories that have prevailed through trial and error being the top novels of their selective authors.

Qidian is way too lenient with this. Throwing all sorts of lunacy and fanfiction into the novel-pot just degrades the website and it's overall quality. Fanfactions make finding good original novels just that much harder. Naruto/One Piece and all that Anime and Video Game fanfictions of existing works have no reason at all to be on this website. It's not even original content and these novels couldn't even go premium as the fanwriter - because they are no authors - doesn't hold right over story and characters.
Qidian please stop this lunacy called fanfiction or at least make a seperate section for fanfictions and don't throw it into a pot with all the real original content. There is a ton of websites dedicated to fanfictions for these fanwriters, but allowing these anime/game adaptions on here is simply an insult in the face of all authors, original and chinese.This young master demands justice @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL
