lynerparel Good luck with it, if there is really going to be a harem, then each girl should have a different personality, and don't make them disappear for the sake of getting another member.
Personally, If there is a harem story, I would like girls to be strong and help mc to achieve his goals.
Harem or no Harem

lynerparel great! Eventually true fans will be fans, neutrals will stick with you, and haters or band-wagoners won't last with you...
Trust in what you write!
Edit: not like my book is successful haha! But in other areas, I have learned to just say, "What does it matter...?" And live open-heartedly
Listen to readers describing a problem and think of a way to improve the writing to solve.
I cant solve it for you. What is the reason its confusing? lack or exposition explaining stuff? Does it become clear later? Is the information worked in?
Theres nothing wrong with chapter one being confusing if it all comes clear as they read. thats normal. But we havent established why its confusing
You're right, only women complain about it!
I am a woman!
I hate harem! =D
But it depends on the harem, or rather, it does not depend on the harem it depends on the MC and how it relates to these women.
Example: Tales of Demons of Gods, clearly the MC is going to have a harem, but I do not hate the idea, MC did everything for these women, nothing humiliating or uncomfortable, but it helped each of them to rise up and fight their battles, which is beautiful and inspiring, very difficult to find MC so, do not take advantage of a moment of weakness to subjugate the woman or "conquer" the beauty. So I am in doubt of which woman should stay with the MC, so the harem makes sense to me, because all women are well developed, what they feel for the MC is not admiration and it is not dependence, because if they become wife or not, the MC will still act the same way, always helping them.
For me, I'm a woman - sorry I have to put it that way because men on this topic are jerks - I like that type of harem.
Sincerely speaking, all men of harem always take advantage of women in their times of weakness and this is revolting!
The tip is if you want to reach out to more readers, not just the narrow-minded men!

Your readers haunted you here, watch out!

I realized that the first few chapters of a webnovel are usually confusing, not just our original ones, but even those of the famous authors. Some early chapters put the reader to the test of their knowledge about the world Xianxian, Xuanhuan and Martial Cultivation. Which makes the beginner reader very confused.
I only spoke this from experience as a reader.
In my case my readers do not understand when I want to do a chapter with the perspective of a single character or with all the emotional load of a N character, even when I want to make a paragraph of my MC remembering his past life in the modern world.
They complain that I break the rhythm of the story and blabla, so what did I do?
I've put two more bonus chapters from the perspective of a character who has not even appeared in the novel yet without being quoted.
Haha, I do not restrict myself to writing when it comes to how I want to write! If I want a character N narrating his own story, I do. If I want to character J who died, narrate his life before in a chapter or more, I do!
Take_the_Moon Damn don't tell the others.

Hahahaha! =D
I keep your secret!

Take_the_Moon sadistic! I'll take down notes...
lynerparel What about my advice? Was I not helpful enough to receive a shoutout?
Rextraos Sorry about that, I didn't notice I hadn't placed you in. So here is a special thank you from me to you. :) Thanks for the advise, (bowing head). :) yay \o/
lynerparel I shall receive your unnecessary praise.
lynerparel -
Good luck on your novel~
I am a male. (shh). And I do not like harems. The main reason I dislike them is that the women, or girls, usually have no motivation to be in a harem. Its usually forced by the author. Therefore fake. Therefore shit characters. And Skully hates shit characters.
[unknown]
I agree more or less, after all it is not only the female character of the harem that is without personality, even as the author makes the MC bring a new woman to his harem is also shit. As I said before, usually the women are in a difficult situation and the MC takes advantage of this to bring these women to the harem. Rarely will you see an MC that helps an FL lift up and get stronger, unpretending, or unpretending that FL is beautiful and sexy, that sort of thing.
I greatly respect the author who put a FL that is weak and the MC goes there and retains it and leaves she strong, even if he is to help in the future in the combat, not just to be added in the harem for no one reason.
My point is: The FL personality cannot be weak and the way it enters the harem cannot be the kind that it is harnessed by the MC at its weakest moment. Overcoming these two points still the third point, make us readers find it necessary for the harem to exist!

My friend, one person have so much to worry about when you write a novel. I always explain in a paragraph at the beginning of each chapter what each chapter is about, if it has R18 scenes, if it is a memory of some character, if it is about the cultivation system, I make a brief summary, if the person wants to read or not, reading the summary nor need to read the chapter can only jump to the next, but even so people say they do not understand the chapter ...
Will I stop writing what I like or what is needed for the story, because of the comments like that? Of course not, so I started putting in the comments: Read the author's warning at the beginning of each chapter!
Who read Ok, who has not read patience!
I always encourage my readers to question their comments, instead of saying they do not understand the chapter.
