Friend, is this serious? So how did anyone who discovered gravity think everything through an apple that fell on his head during a nap?

Not to mention, to understand gravity for your body for 500 years .... I think there is a reason why humans are not immortal, I believe that soul is immortal but not the body. Humans are not immortal not to waste time in long reflections, as our mortal lives are short we have to take as much time as possible to discover the world around us.

As I said I love Colling Ring Dragons, I really love it, my first novel I read that was completed, although my love will ever be Tales of Demon and Gods. But I still do not understand the loss of time on this, alias I think 500 years everyone would rather understand gravity my friend, if it was 50 years or 100 years, I'd even be quiet about it.

Anyway, for me, the romance with the system is the best, that of cultivation, has to have reincarnation or some knowledge of something, not to spend 500 years reflecting on a technique.

I'll respectfully disagree =p. Gravity wasn't truly understand until 1687 by Newton (Basically the biggest genius to ever live in human history in my opinion =p). I think you're significantly oversimplifying what is in reality a very difficult concept. Gravity is not just more mass means more pressure. It's a law that explains the movement of the stars and planets. How all objects attract each other. And even Newton had some predecessors shoulders to stand on such as Galileo.

Linley had to discover gravity completely on his own. No help. No predecessors to explain the work for him. I'd imagine the existence of planes instead of planets would further complicate the issue. Plus other laws interfere with our understanding of gravity. Such as why everything just doesn't come together if everything is attracted to each other?

I consider myself more knowledgeable than most people (my own bias) but I can't claim to truly understand the law of gravity. All I know is that objects attract each other the heavier they are. I don't know any of the fine details.

Even today the scientific community doesn't truly fully understood gravity. There are aspects of space-time that complicate it. It's also a big mystery in quantum mechanics (Which I honestly understand almost nothing about! I'm IT, not science! Lol) https://www.space.com/32147-why-is-gravity-so-hard-to-understand.html

So, I can understand not liking large time jumps like that, though I personally enjoy them. But I think it's very reasonable for a genius to take 500 years to understand the complete law of gravity. Especially given the circumstances he did so in.

      I understand what you mean.

I will not lie, you convinced me a little bit.

However, I still do not like the process "wait 500 years for me to be a fantastic hero". I am using 500 years of Colling Ring of Dragon as an example, but there are other novels that the guy adopts a child or formed a family and simply says: "I'm going to travel to get stronger, I'll be back from here 20 years ago ..."

I want to turn my cell phone or laptop, the question that is in my mind is: "So that you adopted a child or formed a family ?!"

Do you understand what I mean?
Any day of this I'm going to write a parody about a hero of this type and that will have consequences with these "long trips of cultivation"!

Haha, that I understand completely. In contrast to Coiling Dragon, the author's other work Desolate Era was really bad for this. I didn't mind the time-skips (which made 500 years look briefer than a second) but it was like wow... so that persons still alive. Oh, that one too? Wow, also that one. Everybody just living for Trillions upon Trillions of years and not much changing in the meantime.

Yes! It's just so crazy thing!
          Hahaha
Me: Are you look young my dear? What cream did you use?
          Hero: ù.ú
Me: 500 years or 50 years you look so same form! Hey, the XXXX still live?
          Hero: ;-;

Take_the_Moon That's expecting too much from the protagonist from the primitive/ancient world.

I can't blame protagonists of cultivation worlds for taking so long to understand the laws.

There is the reason why cultivation worlds do not make progress and become an advanced society. That is withholding the knowledge, let's take an example and compare it with the real world-

In the real world, when someone makes a groundbreaking breakthrough in some subject/law, they usually share it with others, then some other genius takes that knowledge as a base then build up upon it, finally advancing it even further. this process goes on and on and makes the knowledge more advanced, accurate and more widespread.

In cultivation worlds, knowledge is locked, if someone makes some breakthrough, they hide or restrict it to limited people. Those limited group of people may or may not make progress on that knowledge and even if they make progress, they don't share it with others and that goes even for protagonists. In that kind of place, the world will never make any progress.

The reason we advanced because each generation created/understood/found the knowledge and shared it with the next generation to use it as a base.

So it's normal for a guy to spend 500 years to understand the concept of gravity, I mean he doesn't know where to start, what gravity is and how it works ( even Newton got it wrong, there is no gravitational pull, its the space that pushing us down to earth).

              Demon_Star

              I know that too.
One more reason to want to punch my computer screen or play the phone, even have authors who show the "heroes" who think this way "If I find out something, I will not divulge it to anyone, so I'll be the strongest!" That kind of crappy thinking.

Long live the modern society! I do not know who are the fools who dream of transmigrating or reincarnating in an ancient or primitive society!

If God blesses me he will give me a reincarnation in the futuristic world! Preferably not dystopic!

It is not that I do not understand the martial cultivator of ancient china or whatever the time, I even mentioned: "I know it is an absurd comparison, compare us that we studied gravity everything having been chewed by the predecessors" >>> put something like that in the my post

In the end Colling Dragon Rings is still one of the best cultivator novels of the ancient china, or whatever time I know, because the time used I know it is necessary. I just quoted him, as you can see in the course of my dialogue with a brother here, because every time he wanted to study something or concentrate it would take 500 years or more! So I took this novel as an example, but only for the amount of time a martial grower can spend on martial cultivation.

My biggest problem with the Martial Cultivation genre is because I am BR or Latina as you want to call .... So family and friends are very important! So for me it is impossible even in a fantasy world to imagine a person staying 500 years in meditation and ignore all the rest, kind most growers ignore their family, wife, children, grandchildren, friends, relatives ....

I can not imagine this and people continue the relationship, as if 500 years or more in meditation were nothing!

Again, I am only using "500 years" as an example, nothing against Colling Dragon Rings, it is only given to explain my point.

Not to mention the MCs who arrange harem and son, then 20 years or more, returning with another woman to the harem and more children!

So that the person gets married, and after will travel to cultivate for more than 20 years or more than 100 years? So Stay single!

              Do you understood me?

Take_the_Moon I understand, especially when people grow old their attachment towards family also grows. For cultivators who have very long life, the attachment should be even stronger, I mean who wants to live alone for eternity, unless they take the path of Buddha, shedding emotions and worldly possessions to gain the enlightenment.

                  Demon_Star
I think you called me old!

Hahaha I'm a baby, respect me!

Yes, they always talk about the drama of the way of the cultivator being solitary, but the cultivator also deserves this solitude, after spending a long time in meditation, hardly his friends will call him to a "party" or his wife will call him to help her, after all he is isolated cultivating always!

                  Xoxo

Take_the_Moon Ha Ha! You misunderstood my words, it was not intended towards you but a general trend I have seen in grandmas and grandpas.

Take_the_Moon I don't think he has a harem in Coiling Dragon, I think your talking about Ancient strengthening technique. Cause in Coiling Dragon, Linley was there as his sons grew up, and left once they had a certain age. Also he brought his wife with him.

                        lynerparel
I do not even know what you're talking about.
The Colling Rings Dragon is just an example of long cultivation, I do not hate this novel, on the contrary, I love it very much. But the passage of time bothers me, that's all.

As I said, system genre is the best!

                        Hahaha!

                        Dying of sleep here!
