      Actual romance from decent male perspective as well(without fillers but only 4-5 chaps. Short novel)- mulberry song, our second young master

      In standard xianxia/wuxia(from male perspective)- i would say novels like martial art master has more realistic romance.

      In xianxia/wuxia(female perspective)- romance and plot execution in novels like the road to jianghu is curved would be better. This is because such genres should not have all romance. But you can also write novels like 'seven unfortunate lifetimes'.

        my fave romance right now is empress running away with the ball, i love the MC and ML.

          For me, a good romance is one that builds up the relationship of the couple over time. They will have their hardships and misunderstandings but it's normally in the interest of the other. A story that can take things past (and they kissed the end) also get a big recommend from me. Basically, don't assume that there town like another because one is the Mc and the other the next most important character and they looked at another for a little while.

          I was originally not going to have romance in my work because it's done a lot and in most of the shows I have watched (I am an even anime watcher.) it all feel kind of samey. My friend convinced me however and it forced me to write one that I would be happy with. Now I feel it's one of the most compelling part of my story.

            As for recommendations, since I'm super new here I can't help you but I feel Clannad after story is a good example of well-done romance.

              DSNate I already watched both Clannad and Clannad After Story and I cried. I think the romance was cute in it but it was very slow and subtle.

                          I mostly read romance novel in webnovel and I write romance too, I think you should put a lot of misunderstanding or miscommnunications in the story. I haven't been in a relationship but people around me tend not to open some things to their lover which causes misunderstandings. Some times, they even don't convey their feelings or needs that they end up breaking up.
                          I reccommend for you to read My youth began with him. It's good and you can clearly see the development of their relationship in the story. And 99th divorce.

                            Thank you for the suggestions. I'm actually reading My Youth Began With Him at the moment and I do enjoy it. I think both characters are interesting in the way that they clearly like eachother and something happened in their past that isn't easy to resolve. I haven't read 99th Divorce. I'll go check it out.
