I already said that Nainzhi, prof He and Wen Shouyi are from the parallel world not this world. Prof He came just to look for Nianzhi and that Wen Shouyi wanted to kill her.
Nianzhi and Prof He had the same biological mother, he is her stepbrother. And you can read the comment upstair , you will know the story of how their mother had died.

hanaangel_xo No, he didn't care at all since his father was the highest military officer. Moreover, he was so worried about Nianzhi and he had already been handicap for a year.so he didn't want to waste time and went directly to the other world.
When his father will kidnap Nianzhi back, he will also return and resume his work as a Major General.

lilpriestess Not really. Because it's just about her struggling to escape and also Huo Shao struggles to escape the CSI pursuit. So you can escape till the chapter where she is tortured by Alex.

When Prof He father kidnap Nianzhi and take her to the other World, Huo Shao will lose his mind and search for her everywhere and even almost died. And then he got Prof He note that Gu Yanran know about Nianzhi story,so Huo Shao will torture her( it's one of the happiest chapters in the novel)
