Hello people,

I am the author of “World God Empress” and I would like to ask for your opinions/helps.

Similar to most original novels writers, this is my first novel writing experience. Coupled with the fact that English is not my 1st language, I ended up making a number of beginner errors at first (especially for the first 8 chapters).

I had been learning from my mistakes and improved on the later chapters (I'm still trying to be better day by day). However, it become my concern that my mistakes in the first few chapters would push some readers away.

Therefore, I would like to know, how far would you guys/girls usually read a new story before deciding whether you like it or not?

For fellow authors, is there a way to edit published chapters? Any suggestion on how to address this issue?

Thank you in advance and have a good day everyone ;)

Note: in case any of you would like to give my novel a try, you could find the link below. Cheers ;)

As I am quite a picky reader, if the story does not capture my attention in the first 2 chapters, I will drop the story. Usually the plot has to draw me in for me to stay reading. The writing is secondary to the plot for me, but of course the grammar should not be too bad. If there are spelling mistakes or glaring errors every two sentence, even if the plot is good, I might consider stop reading it.
As for editing published chapter, I believe we could edit the chapter in inkstone and then save that amendment!

butterfly_effect yes me too.. that's why I'm very concerned. My errors were like past/present tense because I didn't know that we had to narrate the story with past tense and use present tense in the conversation. Also few issues with the usage of “ and ”.

Overall, people said that they found mine was still easy to read and understandable. However, it still bothered me as not everyone would be the easy going type. Some were very strict.

As for the edit button/option, I could not find it in inkstone. Where do u find it? I could only find the “delete” option.

it is easy to edit the chapters from inkstone.

        • First, select the book in inkstone to edit.

        • Select the option [Published].

        • Finally, you just select the chapter that you want to edit doing click in the name of the chapter.

        • Edit the chapter and click in [Update].

✨✨🎉🎈Congratulations you have edited a chapter and your future new readers will see it!!!🎈✨✨👍

        Coghum!... coghum!

This is my novel if you wanna to see or gets some 'ideas'

My novel: Reincarnated in the same world?

        a plus:

If you want to edit certain words use the command:
CTRL + F to search the words that you want to edit.

I usually have the problem of leaving some 'i' or her when my MC is male.

As far as I know, we can narrate a story in present tense or past tense, but we have to stick to the tense we choose. (Although most people prefer past tense).

As long as your whole chapter is filled with mistakes and they are not glaring, I think it's alright! You just have to pull your story in with your plot ;)

I hope you are able to edit your chapters now!

I tend to give new stories the benefit of the doubt and if it interests me, I'm not picky about the grammar or pronouns. You do, however have to catch my interest in those first three chapters (or if 1st person, one chapter... Not my favorite style).
