Chryiss haha yeah, a lot of chinese names tend to be very poetic and everything. though for the masculine list, I kinda gave up on explaining half of them so there's a very sarcastic tone throughout the entire thing. :')

                climbers honestly, it depends on what characters you're going for. it can be 天佑 helping the skies, 天友 getting friends, 添油 adding oil... etc. etc. all of them spell out as tianyou, but they all have very different meanings.

                    climbers that would be tianyao, not tianyou. it would make it a feminine name that meant precious jade of the skies.

                                    noelizer I was trying to give a diverse number of names from the 百家姓排名 since I wanted to give a resource that people might've missed if they were on an english website. it's not a complete list, and it definitely doesn't have all the surnames on it (especially the super common ones because I only gave the top ten), but I will add onto it in the future since there are so many surnames that I've missed.

                                              DaddyFishGotBigPp when I said that zai was a surname, I meant this 宰, which means to govern, not the zai you're thinking about (在).
                                              besides, it makes about zero sense if your surname adds onto the meaning of your first name like that. people don't pick their surnames, and if they wanted to match their name to make a pun/meaning, it would be kinda lame.
                                              yunhai's a decent name though.

                                                            If its not Chinese, I can help with English names. If you can't find a good name for English ones, just take the latin root words you need and rearrange them to make a new name. It'll either look weird or unique. Otherwise, there's sites online that give name meanings like my personal favorite-https://www.behindthename.com/
