Harem is usually copy and paste of 7 different tropes and rarely is anything new brought to the table in terms of character. The main character will usually have little to no charactor and will either be indecisive if it is an accidental harem or, if it is a harem seeking novel which is common especially with fan fic, it is the same " dominating " charactor that just repeats itself. Harem is also usually copy paste in other ways too, like the story is usually: harem charactor GET 3 to five times , now watch as the main plot stagnates while we the viewers/readers get to watch sarcasm such interesting harem drama filler that we never have seen before like how they compete for his/her attention

Harem genre was interesting when I was first introduced to it, but it kind of gets boring now lol. Harem for boys now should be more of the girl chasing the boy willingly, and not because the boy is a flirt who wants to get into all the beautiful girls' pants.

XD only my MC's best friend who is basically a background character for now will get a harem, and that's only for flushing out his personality.
Mc will get one girl only.

It's not that harem was bad, it just that many story considered harem as filler which mean their presence just for the sake to increase the number of chapters of the novels.

personally i dont really have an issue with harem just dont make the MC a literal cabbage with a mouth just give him some personality so that i dont feel as if im watching a plank make poor life choices

        Hi!
Can you please tell me some good titles WITHOUT harems or less romance-focused?
Or, point me where to find them?
I just can't abide fictional harems. Especially since I grew up near (not within, thank God) communities that has harems. Modern harems are not much different than harems since ancient times. They are basically lethal rings mothers fight on to give their children the better share of assets. You can argue that there are threesomes and moresomes in modern cities that are happy and full on in debauchery. They don't last long unless you want to end up with a dead-eyed stare of contentment. In most marital harems, you either grit your teeth or get executed.
I can't reconcile the cheesy harems in web novels with the real deal. Fictional harems are just too dull, bland and more focused on getting more p*ssy or more dick.
I find the real thing terrifying and far more interesting and entertaining.
So, I want to avoid them.
Please, help me find titles without them.

Anything is bad when it is done badly. That argument says nothing about the underlying idea. I have only read one book that was harem and despite not being really interested in the trope, it's a great book.
