So.. Basically, you don't give it power stones. Simple! See! If you give it power stones, it will be pushed up the power ranking and then be made premium, I warn u, once it has been made premium, even if it drops down the ranking, it will still stay premium.

I know this is a dirty tactic...but it's the only way.

Nah Nah. If you don't want it to become premium, do everything wrong on the Book of Author. Simply.

Well...if you do that, the author would be demotivated and he/she would just stop writing

Tt will only work if u can convince everyone not to give powerstones and even if that happen, it might still go premium. Best is just don’t read anything here or jst go to somewer to read premium for free. Though thx to this WEBSITE, I don’t really want to read anymore CHINESE LN.

Well, once it goes premium, you could just end that book and continue it in a different novel.

      ie-

      asdf (book one)
      asdf(book two)
      asdf(book three)
      etc.

power stones do not directly affect if the novel goes premium. They mainly check the amount of traffic/library space it has. The only thing power stones do is increase the novels ranking, indirectly increasing the traffic.

I mean that if you don't want your book to go premium or be restricted to your readers, you could just continue the book under a different name, picking up right where you left off, and everytime the next one goes premium, just repeat the process.

Write a book-->book gets popular---> book goes premium----> abandon book----> notify readers of change----> continue under a different novel----> repeat until book is finished.

Make it like a series of books whenever it goes premium.

ThousandHeavens A poorly ranked novel I was following (always rank 166) still went premium so no, this suggestion won't work. Better get used to the idea that all translations will go premium eventually. Lol. As for originals, it's up to the author if they sign with webnovel or not (if they get offered a contract in the first place).

It has nothing to do with the OP's question.
To paraphrase: how to prevent a book he/she likes from becoming premium.

And you don't seem to understand how the system works. WN doesn't decide if the work becomes premium. The author does. Here's how it happens for original works.
              1. Work gets popular.
              2. Author applies for a contract (or someone in WN staff notices the work)
              3. WN inspects the work's statistics, think: "okay this might make us money"
              4. WN offers the author a contract.
              5. Author signs contract.
              6. The work becomes contracted. There's a new gift option. And it gets featured often. BUT no chapter is locked YET.
              7. When a specific word count is reached (often 100k), author has a choice to make it premium (i.e. subsequent chapters are locked)
              8. At that point, the work goes premium.

So, if author doesn't want the work to become premium, they can simply say no to the contract, no need to jump through the hoops as you've described.

ImBloo So, for translated Novel, its up to the author, not the translator?
Therefore, any chance for a premium translated novel could be dropped because the translator gone missing?

                  ThousandHeavens
Honestly, you're better off having your favorite novel go premium. Because then the author is significantly more likely to finish it. How many top non-contracted novels get dropped out of nowhere? At least you can keep reading with free SS if it goes premium. Again, that's assuming it's your actual favorite meaning your free SS would go there first.

Not sure about translated novel. But, going by common sense, I believe authors have to agree to let the work become premium (and seriously, why shouldn't they?) BEFORE WN sign with them. Otherwise, what's the point of paying for translators/editors if WN can't make money off of the work?

Translators are just hired to translate, they don't decide whether the work will become premium as they don't own it.

ImBloo Does that mean a translation work must be a premium? Or eventually they all gonna go premium. Since there are some translated work that is not premium yet.
