I agree with the monthly subscription thing, if done well I would probably buy it.
Such as: Paying 10$ a month to be able to read like 5 selected premium novels (you can select the novels yourself)
would be a godly idea in my opinion, I wouldn't mind buying that.
Maybe even change the daily thing so that you can CHOOSE if you get powerstones, xp, or SS from it.
They probably wouldn't completely erase SS, but make it significantly harder to get them.

I really miss those ad-walled chapters. I would see hundreds of ads with no problem, but I simply cannot buy SS. If things keep on going south like this, then I just won't have enough to read what I like.
Not to mention most of the novels I follow have been having really crappy translation speeds, or seem to have been droped entirely, with no warning to the readers.
I wonder if Webnovel is having money issues and being unable to properly pay the bills, like paying the translators and editors? That would explain why things seem to have been developing towards "milking the comunity".
Of course, we will never get an answer if this is the case, since the contract forbid them from doing it...

Desmond_Desfables Nah, Webnovel is profitable. Translators and Editors disappear all the time. Real life hits them, and replying the queries of some 'free lance job' managers are the least of their concerns.

I know this is really late, but they just changed spirit stones to spirit coins and made it impossible to get free spirit stones anymore. Today I just got a few fast passes, each can unlock one chapter and disappears in 7 days if I understand it correctly, so you can't stockpile them for long either, from 1 month with spirit stones to 7 days... Also, you can't use them to unlock all chapters.
Seriously, qidian just takes more and more away and replaces it with paid content. If they had decent prices, it'd be acceptable but their asking price is ridiculous to say the least. Costs WAY more than buying proper books/light novels that has been translated, edited and properly written instead of the rushwork that is chinese novels and their often somewhat shoddy translations. One organization shouldn't get to have monopoly on an entire market. Ever.
