RajidZzzzz they probably needed to do this in order to get more people to buy the SS. While some of the money of course goes to them, a good amount of that money also goes to the authors who are contracted to them as well.
If they give such a huge reward for spirit stones then less people would want to purchase spirit stones from them, this means less money for the people who work at webnovel AND less money for the authors who write their books for us.
I understand that this is a very annoying thing, but please understand that as a company that supports an uncountable number of people, this is the type of decision that they need to make.
