Right. @CKtalon Around half a year ago, didn't you say something about how Cthulhu Gonfalon was only retranslated and stockpiling chapters for the past year or two? That it wasn't dropped?

ImBloo The system is only operable by staff of Webnovel for now and the authority to do so is dependent on the staff's permissions. For instance, someone working as an editor doesn't have access/permission to access what their colleagues earn. So likewise, different people have different authorities.

Any report system basically floods them which is unable to be handled humanly at the moment. They are working on that by outsourcing this work, but it will take time.

    1. IP bans won't work.
    2. Report spoiler button will have no one manning it.
    3. Again impossible just like 1.
    4. That's in the works, but it has to be an employee, not at the volunteer level.

We have already been in discussion about allowing translators to have the ability to delete comments, but that will take time to implement. There's the worry that translators will delete ALL negative comments too, so it's a balance of multiple factors.

CKtalon so right now only number 2 and 4 can be achieve where the report spoiler button has no one manning it and we need employee to manage the troll, not volunteer. Then my suggestion is, create a report spoiler button (let readers 'vote' it) and the one who approve it were author/translator/editor. This can prevent misuses of the button for both readers and author themselves . Furthermore, we do not need to hire extra employees. Killing 2 birds with one stone I guess?

CKtalon I think if we simply hide the comment instead of deleting it, it wouldn't matter if it was an unmanned system. Just make it fully automated. And if it becomes an epidemic of too many hidden comments, well, I don't think that it's the worst problem in the world. If you want it manned, then allow the translators and editors to unflag the comments.

KoraL Yes, as I said, it's a request by the translators to implement this feature, but the developers have many bugs to fix as well. It would take some time for translators to be able to handle the comments, but it's already in the works.

The Community: "Hey WN, this guy is ruining it for everyone else"

          WN:

The Community: "It's been happening for months! DO SOMETHING!"

WN: "meh. Stop feeding the trolls."

...is this an out-of-season April Fools joke?

CKtalon I want to suggest another 1, please add 'block' button too. What will happen if translator has too many things need to do (never bother comment section), the readers at least can block the user. For example, let say I block user A. Both party won't see each other profile/post/comment. Somehow if user B reply to user A comment, I can see user B's comment but can't see what user A's post. Once I click the 'block' button and then 'poof' gone. The page automatically reload and I won't see user A post ever after that.

Make it an option to hide the comment section.

              Velixar

Truth be told, RR is becoming my main home. The only reason I even post here anymore is because of the friends I've made. This company, its services, and its treatment of writers and customers are a fucking joke.

DeadmanWhisperer that seems like a smart suggestion to me! Lol I’m ho estly amazed by some of his comments. Webnovel aotoblocks me when I try to write naive” in comments but somehow asshole isn’t considered a bad word? I mean a nice comment like the main char3cter is naive and adorable had naive ****** all symboled off, which made my comment look horrible but somehow this guy gets to write all this stuff? My main solution when someone posts a comment I hate is that I go and like every other comment I can to help drown out the bad one.... although against 54 accounts it does seem difficult. But we should form our own water army dedicated to only liking the good comments!

Well time to consider joining another community I guess. Can't believe I've been posting spoiler block comments for more than 200 chapters already. SMH
