stanmsg Gourmet Food Supplier if you want to read about someone making god-like food with ingredients which defy common sense. I read it for the MCs compass-like attitude and to drool about good food.
Pet king if you want to read about pets. One of the most well-written books on the site imo. You read about a guy runs a pet shop. There are cutesy, dramatic, and tear-jerking moments in this book. Even though there is a special power that lets him keep historical/spiritual embodiments of famous beliefs as pets it doesn't add much to the story other than having overpowered cats (yet). I would highly recommend it for a casual reader who's never read about cultivation or Chinese novels in general.

Kingfisher The cover of Pet King is the thing that makes me lose interest though. But after reading your synopsis, maybe I should give it a try.
Here I will recommend some novels at a Chinese point of view.
First I'd like to recommend the King's Avatar. Honestly speaking, it's one of the best ones I ever considered. This story is kinda long, but really good. Completed for years, it's still very popular among Chinese webnovel lovers. The author, Butterfly Blue, who was literally not famous before, suddenly became very famous for this novel and even earned much money with the novel.
Then I'd like to appreciate Record of Unusual Creatures. This novel is considered the best Sci-fi novel on QIDIAN China. But sadly it's not famous on QIDIAN INTERNATIONAL at all. But it's really a good story and it even can make you feel that all other novels look boring. Many people gave it up because the beginning is too boring. That's just the truth. But if you keep patient and you will find it amazing after a few hundreds of chapters.
