Recently i've started to notice some small things which im sure a lot of other people are also noticing. Webnovel is slowly making it tougher to read novels for free. Im not completely sure if this is true for all novels but the ad system has been completely removed. All novels directly become premium now[not originals of course]. The invites get you almost half the ss you used to get before and novels ehich earlier were conpletely free are qlso becoming premium and that to only after 70-80 chapter! This is making it very difficult for readers who cant buy ss and were initially here due to really good novels which were available for free. Webnovel is slowly taking some really bad moves. Whats your opinion ?

master5654 I don't think the situation will become even more worse, their parent site Qidian has some pretty stable stuff, so I don't think they would abolish free stuff ( sure it's become a bit difficult, but we can make up with the alts)

Webnovel operates two ways, they give you some free chapters but later on you have to pay for the rest especially the premium novels. Just that not everything is free, authors and this site needs to earn revenue too. The simple approach is, keep reading while chapters are free and the time when there is paywall appearing on succeeding chapters, then pay if you have the money. Then if you don't have the money then don't. Simple things...doesn't need to be complicated. Humans love free things...always free...that is normal. But as I said not all things can remain free forever....the only thing permanent in this world is changes. Once you understand certain things and keep an open mind...it will be easier to accept things and go with the flow.

The better novels appear to be going premium. This makes sense, since they are good enough people will pay to read them. I still haven't figured out the cost per word, and compared it to how much buying a book would cost, so I'm not at the point of spending money to buy chapters, but this is due to purely utilitarian concerns, not philosophical ones.

The people translating/writing these novels are putting in the work, and they have an absolute right to charge for their work; as readers, we have an absolute right to decide to purchase their works or not. I am disappointed that I don't get to continue to read for free, but so it goes.
