Dude, writing isn't a talent. Writing is a skill. And for every great day I feel like I have, I have 8-10 where it feels like I'm shoveling shit in a sitting position. It's all part of the grind, baby.
Most people can string a decent sentence. Writers are the people who have the willingness to put out 150k words of awful writing, and then sit down and re-write it 3-5 times until it's mostly not bad.
Once you get the hang of the practice, writing does at least get faster. What you're reading of my contest book is the very roughest draft, and I write a chapter in about 30 minutes. But that comes from constant writing, not magical fairy dust. =P
