Not promoting novels, not giving link left and right just to have one more view or collection or even worst, a review made by another author who is so knowledgeable about writing a good novel (that's sarcasm). If I wanted to do that, I would choose any one of the numerous thread about it.

        SouthToiletWizard By the way, just to inform you of it, if you didn't know. You can find authors in the Search bar of Webnovel, the same as the novels one. So, you just have to input the author name, and on its profile, you will see its novels. It takes like what, 10 seconds, 11 tops.

            My ranking and the collection ratio have kind of fixed at one place - ranking doesn't budge and collections ratio changes by a few decimals every now and then! 170:1 for now!

              Just spent a day on daily updates. That kicked the ratio from 450:1 to 330:1. For rather obvious reasons I'm bleeding collections right now, so say 350:1 at the moment, and it'll get worse :D

                  I have not read your novels, but there are some things you should know.

                  This often happens, the ratios fall and rise. But one thing you need to know about webnovel, readers here are greedy and always want to read more, so it's always good to post chapters frequently, at least one a day, or five a week. This easily raises the rate ratio.

                  Another important thing, at least for me, I also wrote more than one novel, four to be exact, but I could not launch frequently and always alternated, but this generated some criticism for the lack of release.

                  So I decided to choose one and focus on it, after a year of hard work, I got 6k collections and 2.4kk views. I will continue the other novels when I finish the first one I chose. That's my advice, you do not have to take it seriously.

                      _chomps .... I am focussed on one novel and I release 1 chapter every day and over weekends 3-4. But still, my collection is bad. I am trying hard to improve but nothing is working. Any other suggestions?

                          niharikabhol Try not to be too disheartened. Keep focusing on your story and look to the support you already have. It's all a process.

                            MishaK really? Thanks for your kind words. But many people with even fewer chapters than mine have better ratio. So I am trying to find out what is going wrong with my work. Maybe I can try to improve.

                                MishaK I think your book was featured. What happened after that? Also the audience for that niche (Zal) is smaller...

                                Read market here is tiny for my works. When Zaldi was featured, it gained interest then dropped very fast. It was the genre & word count being beyond 2K threshold that killed my chances I think. Either way, I'm actually happy with the end result. It was sad to see the numbers literally dropping at the time (still is XD). All good experiences to learn from.

                                    niharikabhol You're not doing anything wrong. Take it from someone who's read your work. :grin: If anything, you're competing in a very competitive category, and there are a lot of works that have been gaining a loyal following over time in there. So, keep at it and be proud of your milestones.

                                            Hey guys, newbie author and still trying to get a grip on things here. 8 days into the webnovel writing world. I have 14k views and 75 collections. I am not sure if it is an abysmal ratio in the romance genre. But it is amazing to read thoughts, comments from everyone on this forum. Makes me feel less lonely in my jittery journey!!

                                            What is the number of ratings/reviews required before it stops saying not enough ratings:(
