MishaK really? Thanks for your kind words. But many people with even fewer chapters than mine have better ratio. So I am trying to find out what is going wrong with my work. Maybe I can try to improve.

MishaK I think your book was featured. What happened after that? Also the audience for that niche (Zal) is smaller...

Read market here is tiny for my works. When Zaldi was featured, it gained interest then dropped very fast. It was the genre & word count being beyond 2K threshold that killed my chances I think. Either way, I'm actually happy with the end result. It was sad to see the numbers literally dropping at the time (still is XD). All good experiences to learn from.

niharikabhol You're not doing anything wrong. Take it from someone who's read your work. If anything, you're competing in a very competitive category, and there are a lot of works that have been gaining a loyal following over time in there. So, keep at it and be proud of your milestones.

niharikabhol You also have 10 ratings  Congrats on achieving this one too. It's not easy to gain 10 solid reviews

Veronica8 thank you... You are the best. Your comments are very encouraging. Brings a smile on my face whenever I read.

Hey guys, newbie author and still trying to get a grip on things here. 8 days into the webnovel writing world. I have 14k views and 75 collections. I am not sure if it is an abysmal ratio in the romance genre. But it is amazing to read thoughts, comments from everyone on this forum. Makes me feel less lonely in my jittery journey!!

Also, a stupid question coming your way. Please don't lynch me for it.

What is the number of ratings/reviews required before it stops saying not enough ratings:(

PinkCotton Thanks much! Hope I manage to entice enough people to write a review to at least reach that number.

SMK08 There are many forums like this where we swap novels with each other and review. That way we help each other and in turn help ourselves.

So, a month ago my collection to views ratio was about 1:226. I couldn't update my novel for a month due to my exams and now my ratio changed to 1:302 ( the collections remained the exact same but the views increased drastically) T_T lesson learned

niharikabhol This is something normal in the beginning, I've been through it, like having only 10 or 20 collections and more than 50k views for several days. But only with hard work will you be able to increase those numbers.

If I compare your novel to mine by the time you're writing, yours is in a better position than mine in a month of release.

I had to write for a year to get the amount of readers I have today, so getting more readers requires a lot of dedication. But there are exceptions that I will not comment on.

Another thing that can help to get readers is to go for trends or appear in daily updates. But this will need to send a message to Edgarry in the discord.

But the most important thing for a writer is dedication and hard work, because it is really difficult to succeed in a short time, unless you are really very good.

SMK08 you need to have 10 reviews to appear the rating

_chomps Thanks for explaining and understanding my concerns and for your solidarity.
This might sound stupid but what do you mean by -> go for trends or appear in daily updates?

SMK08 welcome. Regarding review you need 10+ for it to show. That's why a lot of people do review swap.
