So I was lurking and reading on here a lot recently, and was wondering how does a novel's release schedule work. Is it possible for series to suddenly increase its release rate? Is 2 chapters a day considered decent pacing if the story's behind by about 1000+ in translation?

Also how does Mass Release selection work? Is it based on what the WebNovel staff decides, or highly dependent on the translator?

Lastly, what's the best way to support the translator if their name isn't on the novel?

    Sonokishi the release schedule and mass releases largely depend on the traslator. 2 chapters a day is usually the normal update speed (it is sometimes faster if the chapter lenght is smaller). You can give "gifts" for some novels (but their value is measured in ss, not sure how much the traslators receive from this) and some translators also have patreons. Traslators usually also leave notes in the end of the chapters if you want to learn their nickname. I don't really know other methods

        ihavenoname Thanks for your response. I've gone ahead and left a comment on their latest translation via @ to tag the translator/editor and ask them about it. Really do hope the Translator (or WebNovel team) puts more into the story (Perfect Secret Love) since at the rate of 2 ch per day, it'll take 2+ years for it to catch up to chapter ~2100

            CKtalon Yeah but with the amount of content that's still left untranslated, I feel like it'll be behind by 1.5 years at its current pace. The author I think releases 4-5 chapters per day from what I heard coupled with random mass releases.

            Guess I'll just have to be patient, or learn to read simplified Chinese/Machine Translation :( ...

                Sonokishi Sometimes the translators are fast, but the editors are the ones slowing up the process. Or the other way round.

                    Yeah :(... I figured that might also be a possibility.

                    Speaking of which, if I spend SS or send gifts, does it distribute evenly to translator/editor? How does it work? What's the best way to support the author + translator + editor?

                      CKtalon Is there also a way to bulk-buy chapters or is it required for you to click chapter-by-chapter to buy them all?

                          CKtalon Hope WebNovel is also looking to improve the tag system. It's sort of odd where I search tags and it shows novels that has nothing to do with it.

                          Looking forward to the instant/bulk unlock feature. That's what made it convenient for me to unlock a lot of comics/novels on another website (Tapas)
