Hi everyone, I'm a new user. From what I understand some chapters in some books are given a premium title and are thus locked and can only be opened with spirit stones. But from discussions I've read it seems like there should a be a certain no of chapters available free and that all these premium chapters also become free after a particular time period has passed. Is this true or am I missing something?

It used to be true until a few months back. Now, it is just a portion of the chapters being unlocked for free and the rest are permanently locked
Yep, it used to be true, but not anymore. Nowadays, a novel can be free till it reaches a certain number of chapters, and when webnovel decides to make it premium it goes back and locks a lot of the previously free chapters. So if you're hoping to stockpile chapters before reading, you'll end up having to pay for previously free chapters once it goes premium.
