So I read the description on the novel page but it's pretty vague, I made this post to give everyone a better understanding of the story.

It's about a skilled young man who works as a mercenary whose goal is to enter the world of cultivation, he eventually gets an opportunity to attend the entrance exam for an academy which may enable him to enter the path of cultivation and what happens next forms the rest of the story.

MC is intelligent, has a great presence of mind, he has various skills like strategic formations, archery, maths, etc, at his disposal he is accompanied by a loli (not a romantic interest atleast till where I read), he also has a feud with someone, I'm not really sure it's been a long time.

Please vote for this novel if you are looking for a well rounded story with great plot, intriguing characters, and something well above the ordinary devoid of instant gratification.

Really helps when a description / synopsis is more informative and less vague.

Ananya They should hire people to create a synopsis for them, as I think the translator makes the synopsis as of now and does a horrible (no offense <3) job at it.

Tugster It would suffice if the translator translated the introduction of the story in his own words but what happened here was probably the translator translated the Raws site synopsis as it is. In the raws site, the author is pretty popular, description is not required for the novel to get traction but here......

some adds / corrections. Ning Qu is not strictly an mercenary , is part of army at this border fort. He is son of a late general in Great Tang and survived the bloodbath / elimination of his family with help from old servant. old servant sacrificed his young son of same age and help him move / hide next door and leave. he left capital to outside area for survival . he came across little girl among , surprise , a massacred caravan and picked her up. so they make a team of strange young fellows. his main aim is , again surprise , revenge on people who wiped out his family. he is marked by a prophesy . there is translation available of first 83 chapters. all decent quality accept last 5-6.
i don't know chinese but the title chosen by this translator is different from previous ones who used night coming , night is coming and ever night. title has bearing on the prophesy linked to MC.

It is a good novel but sadly no one had taken the time to tl it so very few people actually know about it. The summary is also vague for anyone to gather any interest after reading it. Hopefully, it gets enough votes. I am seriously looking forward to reading it.

Also assign a new translator, one that has consistent good quality translations unlike TransN whose quality is all over the place, in newest translation, the terms for the cultivation method change halfway through the chapter then change back randomly, it's like they assign multiple low quality translators and divide chapters into parts.

The terms used, the English structure etc are all shit, many things barely making sense, even if 90% of it is fine, that 10% is not, it's really bad when describing combat, just like Martial arts master, please @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL stop giving these guys decent novels to ruin.

Mute communication from QI to translator group about these issues may also do the job. i would rather have translators improve their work than QI looking for new and hard to find good translators. sadly there are not lots of them out there. chinese to english is among the most demanding.
some more stones will always help in getting it out sooner :)

BadMal So far it seems Qi turns a blind eye, martial arts master has over 300 chapters and the quality has stayed equally shit throughout.

Thanks for the info. Me, personally, if the synopsis doesn't help, I usually read the comments to get some idea about. There is also someone who usually comment about the status of the novel from qidian china, and it really helps deciding which to vote if the synopsis isn't available. At least, for me.
