Hi. So there's this comment that I've replied to, and I answered her uhm, concerns one by one so my reply was a bit long.. When I posted it, there's a word that became "••••••", which I've encountered before when I commented a somehow offensive word (b-word), and in which I've realized that Webnovel is filtering vulgar words (which is great and all).. But my sentence just now was "...Her mind's not yet corrupted, so simple things as befriending a guy she likes shows her innocence..." And it became "...Her mind's not yet corrupted, so •••••• things as befriending a guy she likes shows her innocence..."

What I don't understand is how the word "simple" became coarse and had to be filtered.. Did the developers or something made a mistake, overlooked it perhaps?? Or did it suddenly have another offensive meaning I'm unaware of?? I'm not sure if there are other words mistaken like this.. Please check!! 🙏Thanks!!

(• is actually * but I've changed it since the latter is used for formatting and affects the construction of the post..)

No, when the the synonym to 'easy' get's filtered out by a naughty word filter it's entirely the result of developers pushing their heads far enough up their respective rectums they're unable to retract them again. The resulting lack of oxygen disables them from seeing what went wrong, and the filter stays the way it was.

If I'm not mistaken, the words naive, freedom, and adult are also censored. ”www”as well, which I think is to prevent direct linking to other websites. I only noticed because I saw quite a few e and a comments, and couldn't figure out what they were supposed to be until I realized they must be ewww and awww.

My guess is that they are using a censor filter meant specifically for China, and they dumped the English equivalents of all the bad words into the filter without checking whether the words are truly offensive in the English-speaking world. shrug
