Hello, dear authors~ From Feb 25 onward, the writing prompts contests shall undergo a change. The contest's time period shall be lengthened from one week to two weeks, and there will be more main prompt topics to choose from, as well as more abundant rewards.

You might like to choose one or two of the following examples of themes – that appeal to you and try writing a story. Regardless of the length of the story, you should try to aim at completing it :)
Betrayal – the pain of, in love and friendship.
Courage – courage to deal with conflict, lack of, developing, conquering with.
Discovery – what does it take to discover new places, inner meaning, strength, or treasure.
Escape – from life, routine, prison, family pressures.
We encourage new writers with no writing experience to try writing a short story of 10k-20k words.:)
Writing Prompts Contest 62：Become a tree
After reincarnation, you have become a tree.
This tree could be gentle: soaking in the rain showers, breathing the morning air, with birds nesting upon you and wild beasts resting under you.
This tree could be miraculous: perhaps your branches can be crafted into arrows capable of slaying dragons, your leaves can save a warrior on the verge of death, your bark is harder than steel, and your roots reach all the way into the core of the world.
This tree could be divine: maybe you can control the weather and temperature, be worshipped by villagers, gather the power of belief, and finally ascending to become a tree god.

Awards
1.Featured on the front page
Every first place prize for each topic shall be shown on the front page's "Trending Original Stories" section for 2-3 days, across our PC + App + Mobile platforms. Based on past experience, this will add 1000+ or more readers who bookmark your story in their library.
2.Spirit Stone rewards
Every first place winner for each topic shall receive 1000 SS. 2nd and 3rd place shall both receive 500 SS. 4th through 10th place shall each receive 100 SS. These Spirit Stones will be handed out in the form of gift cards to each author's inbox. Every gift card will contain 100 SS.
3.Chance to sign a contract
Outstanding novels will directly receive the chance to sign a contract.
How to join
Click the create button at the top of webnovel.com's homepage. After you log in to the Inkstone platform, choose [Writing Prompts Contest 61: Keywords-Betrayal; Courage; Discovery; Escape] or [Writing Prompts Contest 62：Become a tree] in order to join the contest.
Rules
1.This contest will take place from 3/25/2019 to 4/7/2019, over a period of two weeks. The contest results will be announced three days after the end of the writing prompt on the webnovel forums.
2.The final ranking list will be determined by the number of power stones they receive within these two weeks. However, the editors will also determine the winners based on the quality of the story submitted.
3.Only novels that have more than 10,000 words will be eligible for final rankings.
4.Fan-fic novels are ineligible for final rankings.
5.Novels entered in the contest must be your original work with the copyright fully owned by you. No plagiarism shall be tolerated.
6.The main plot of your novel must adhere to one of the writing prompt's topics. Otherwise, it will be treated as a non-participating novel.
7.Your novel may not disparage other religions or cultural beliefs.
8.Webnovel reserves the right of final explanations.
Tips
1.We encourage new writers with no writing experience to try writing a short submission of 10k-20k words.
2.It's important to have daily updates in order to attract readers' attention.
3.Proactively communicate with your readers. You'll receive sincere advice and encouragement.
4.Every chapter's word count length is recommended at 1500-2000 words. At minimum, please don't go under 800 words per chapter.
5.The main character's name should have a name suitable for the cultural setting of the novel. Please don't imitate translated Chinese novels in using pinyin names. More localized stories are easier to show their strong points with.
