Has anyone here been offered a contract or knew someone that has been offered a contract even tho their story was not that famous or even in the top100 of the originals? I'm just curious if they only offer contracts to famous stories. Hope someone could answer.
Webnovel Contract
Sighgray What do you categorise as "not that famous" ?
I actually just got an email offering a contract for my novel. Currently, it's in the top 200 of the originals. I wouldn't say it's famous as the view:collection ratio is also quite bad so ... ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I know the ones who read my novel like it, as there have been requests for mass release but I don't know anything else other than that.
How, or why I even got the offer is beyond me.
I guess the only thing my novel has got going for me is that I have daily updates? Not missed one yet.
PsyberRose thanks for answering! Actually, my friend was also offered a contract today. Her view:collection ratio was also not that high. Not to mention she only updates at least one chap a week. So she's kind of dumbfounded why she received the offer.
Sighgray So the both of us can be dumfounded as to why. ʱªʱªʱª (ᕑᗢूᓫ∗)
PsyberRose she even thought that maybe Webnovel sent a bulk mail and she's just somehow included. did you reply to the mail they sent?
Sighgray It's pretty clear via Edgarry's discord post what they will take. I'll rephrase here.
Novel needs to satisfy preliminary entry level #: be in "Top 350" Power Ranking for consideration.
Then you can fill in form: https://forms.gle/DffkPpvWeqU41UjC9
The form will ask you for:

So you can probably safely consider everything else not in the 350 Power Ranking = Undiscovered, not popular, not famous.
PsyberRose Congrats! Basically, you passed preliminary round #1 entering the 350 power rank. That's why you got the offer. I think they use this and comment activity as a given default for handing out offerings. Since you also attract a lot of readers interaction.
Sighgray No, not yet. Things like these need time to think on and study. Can't make rash decisions, no matter how nicely worded the email was.
Veronica8 Thanks! For the information as well. That clears up some confusion.
I can't seem to get into discord either since it says mine is an unclaimed account. No idea what that means and even sent ticket to discord about it. Not yet resolved. So I can view discord but not post.
PsyberRose my friend too. Actually, she told me there's one section that ask for the story's outline. And she doesn't have one. Coz she just write it as she goes so she doesn't really know herself where the story woukd go.
Well scrap my earlier comments. I just got a contract. :eyes: Like, why? I've never reached the power ranks even once. Hey, I'm not complaining, I'm just really, really, really x 10 surprised.
Hello, can I ask when a novel can be considered famous and how many collections is it normal to have?
Wizard007 According to the post above, it should be included in the top350 of power rankings? I don't know about the number of collections though.
Just in, but the Content Team does keep a look out for compelling and well-written stories regardless of popularity.
If they see the potential of it, they'll give it a go. So, regardless of story reader take-up, you can still give the contract application a shot. They are always on the look out for fresh stories that could be the next trend.
Word of advice: Read the contract end to end, break it out if you have to so you can digest in chunks. Make sure you understand what you're reading before signing. Also remember you are signing a contract not an agreement. Two completely different things.
Hi everyone
I applied for the contracts and luckily they offered it to me but the non-excusive ones does bother me a lot.
For those who already signed up under this contract, I would to hear some clarifications about this from you. Thank you.
What's bothering you about the contract, usually its the exclusive contract that gets everyone's panties in a bunch...
