Oh! Despite not having the PS vote button fixed yet, I have good news. On RR, MWTL made it to Trending, so that’s pretty exciting. One small step~ 😊

Yesterday I started reading the novel - Canaan: My World To Live - it remains to read 10 more chapters to the end ... I hope that today there will be time to read and give a comment about what I read. In the meantime, I gave 10 small notes about the read chapters.

Wrote one chapter for a second story about merchants.

Now I listen to Chinese music -

It seems that I have already heard this music somewhere, maybe Celtic motifs or Enya?

But the Chinese song sounds interesting ...

Gourmet_DAO No rush hehe~ Pretty Chinese music!

Veronica8 Thanks! Yes, waking up to that was nice. Should’ve gotten up earlier. I slept in after a few long days of work and school meow. >_<

I mean I usually wake up late but only because my classes are late so then I have to stay up late and wake up late. XD

Today I finished my final paper for history. -w-
Very tiredsies indeed. Just a few more days of projects, and then I can finally work on the cover art requests, editing stories, and remaining review swaps from so long ago. x_x

On another note, did anyone come across any good stories lately? Some of the new FL novels on the energy vote list seemed interesting like the villain boss and proud goddess. I also just recently got into Release that Man, which was funny.

I also have so many more in my library to read, but I haven't gotten the time. T-T

Zaldizko got a nice review today. My baby got some wuv. I finished my 120 product manual.

I'm going to break my schedule for 4th Zaldizko and do some mass releases. I'm motivated to write on this one since interest has picked up. Also, I want to hurry up and reveal some Easter Eggs I planted in Zaldizko. I guess, I will also have to be meticulous about it.

All the other stories seem to have gone quiet with reader interest, so I think I'm safe enough to just focus on 4th Zaldizko for the time being.

Veronica8 Nice! Good reviews out of the blue are the best surprises.
Easter eggs huh? Aren’t you a little late on starting the Easter egg hunt? ;) Jk lol. Focusing on sounds good since it was your first (I think) story that you have multiple volumes planned.

Chryiss Good reviews out of the blue are the best surprises.

It was actually a review swap, but I wasn't really expecting a swap, so all good. Yep. I need to write it out. Book 2 is getting interesting in my head. Have to get it down before I loose the momentum.

Hm, I just noticed something odd and sneaky about those little piratey bots.

My non-story chapters have grayed out titles while the story ones are black. They're still clickable with the full content in them, but seeing as they haven't picked up the dummy chapter and managed to get the previous story chapter after the dummy.... No way! Do I really have to check every time for them to upload the dummy to post the new one? X__X

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience on this?

Chryiss no matter how does author do to prevent that bot either putting the dummy chapter or hyperlink or unique symbol into their novel, etc, bot will copied everything first. But if someone start complain to them (bot), they will check and amend to the correct chapter..

Yuki_Qing Thanks for the explanation! Although I confused by whom you mean regarding “someone”? Is that me complaining in the chapter about it being a dummy one, or some person actually reading it on the pirate site, or a pirate staff? I’m pretty sure no one reads it on the pirate site, at least by the number of views I see.

Chryiss readers from a pirate site, some might be their own staff notice about it.. we might not know how readers will complain, (for example either there have a link to report /discord / any social media / 1 might be friend with them, etc) not so sure..

Ooh. Zaldizko got another surprise sale via iTunes today. Small change, but the fact some one invested in my story makes me cry with joy. 😁 Happy kitty.

I got a 2.5 rating on RR today out of the blue. It's the lowest I've received along with two other 3 star ratings (which occurred since being on Trending). I wish those people would tell me why they scored it like that as it would be helpful. Obviously a one star could be regarded as people simply hating on a novel for no good reason. But 2.5 or 3 means they scored it with some reasoning. I have a feeling I know why considering some of the comments I've received which picked on small details (that I then explained after). But still, seems a bit overkill to chop the score in half just because of one flaw. Not saying that a 5 is deserved either, but even those who were critical/not their cup of tea had a 3.5 for good reasons, and that was before the rewrite. (I mean seriously, someone had a problem with my first line because of "incorrect physics," like really?) I actually don't mind receiving them, but it does make me wonder what they thought was so bad.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on low scores?
It's a little different on WN where ratings aren't anonymous like RR.

Chryiss WT? Pretty brutal. I'm feeling you. Especially when I know your stories have quality. Take it with a grain of salt and keep going.

Veronica8 Thanks~ I certainly don't think I'm a bad writer, but I can definitely improve. Even if their reasoning might be debunked (since my allusions aren't so easily caught, they might be confused/find something seemingly inconsistent), it still helps to be aware of things as an author. If everyone is finding issue with something because I was too mysterious, then I should make it clearer.

Will definitely keep going and learning~!

Chryiss I guess what you could consider from this experience is self reflection towards your own style. You're not going to please everyone. Not everyone will get your story. It's a given since we're all individuals with different approaches to things.

So if you seek verbatim, take what is meaningful towards honing your own signature style. It's worth it to approach verbatim this way, rather than why a story was/was not liked. This way you're shaping your story to a signature approach that's likely to leave an impact (favorably is the intention). You'll find that those who do like the story will stick with it and look for more. May even advocate for the story, negating those negative ratings or feedback.
