It makes sense, because if there's already the differentiated categories for searching the novels, why not also one for the rankings?
As an author and a reader, I agree with this. But, I'll be lonely in the male lead history genre if this happens. Authors should write more historical novels.

Give it time. I believe there will be more historical novels in the future.
Scenario: someone rebirth to Roman Time. Invent gun powder and play kingdom building. Maybe that person is from Carthage that is only a few years away from total annihilation by Rome (in the third Punic War)

At the very least, I doubt it would be too much coding on their part considering you can view total power stones on your stories in Inkstone already. The info’s there and not deleted.
